God is a God for ALL People: Not Just of one Faith, Religion, Culture, Ethnicity, Region, Country, He is the God of us All!

“I am the LORD, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me?
-Jeremiah 32:27

This week in church we are reminded in the readings that God is the God of all people here on earth. Not just for certain groups or faiths, but the same God for all. The following readings for this week include:

Reading 1, Isaiah 56:1, 6-7
Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 67:2-3, 5, 6, 8
Reading 2, Romans 11:13-15, 29-32
Gospel, Matthew 15:21-28

In the Old Testament reading of Isaiah, God/Yahweh says, "...my house will be called a house of prayer for all peoples..." In the New Testament, Jesus, offers help to a Canaanite woman from that district who started shouting, 'Lord, Son of David, take pity on me. My daughter is tormented by a devil.' She persisted so much, and although back then different religions did not mix like the Jewish and the Canaanites, but Jesus said, 'Woman, you have great faith. Let your desire be granted.' And from that moment her daughter was well again. We need to remember that God is the God of all peoples here on Earth. God's house will be called a house of prayer for all peoples. From the second reading we are reminded that, God has imprisoned all human beings in their own disobedience only to show mercy to them "all." "God is the God of all." He hears us all, He loves us all, and He answers our prayers and calls us to be more like Jesus Christ while here on this Earth. Don't ever classify people into sects thinking God will only answer Christians, or Italians, or Heterosexuals, or Priests, or Jews, God is the God of all people, He loves all of us equally no matter what your background, religion, orientation, or ethnicity is. God is the God of all. What a miracle we have in our Almighty Father!
