Thy Word is the Lamp Upon Our Feet: What a Miracles from God!

 


Mass readings this week were so nice and powerful again. The Word is always powerful and meaningful if you take it in. While we go to mass each week, we got in the habit of also watching the mass on Sundays at 8am from Heart of the Nation too, so we do that and go to the Saturday Vigil mass at St. Luke's. Then I watch my other church on TV, Joel Osteen. The Word, words, it all says a lot and means a lot when you let the Holy Spirit in to take it in and respect it. The priest on the mass today in his homily focused on how during this pandemic many people have lost their faith, have become anxious, angry, out of control, this has lead to a lot of the protesting and rioting in our world today. Luckily my spouse and I always still went to church and pray and always stay focused on God all day long if we can. Regardless of the pandemic and riots, we are focused on God and the Holy Spirit  being upon us always, not allowing things of this world to bring us down, to stay in faith with God. All any of us can do is help turn others away from evil, be models and examples of Jesus when He was on Earth. We cannot harden our hearts to God, yet, listen, heed His word and stay in His faith. We all need to follow the simple Ten Commandments and love our neighbor as ourselves. Do your best to solve all your problems directly with the sinner against you, if you need to bring it to another or the church if you cannot get anywhere do so. Try to pray and pray in groups to work toward a better world for all of us. Our words matter and we can only do the best we can to minister and try to reach others, bringing them closer to God. Remember that God said, "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” My spouse and I have seen a lot of people stressed out today, depressed, over reactive, upset, anxious, and changed. We can only do our best to work on our hearts and others, for me and my house will serve the Lord the best we can. Sometimes others unfortunately have to go through their own struggles when they do not allow God in their hearts and lives. We just need to allow the miracles of God to come into our lives if we want inner peace and then if all peoples on Earth do this, then maybe, just maybe we will then have Heaven here on Earth too! Ezekiel 33:7-9
Thus says the LORD:
You, son of man, I have appointed watchman for the house of Israel;
when you hear me say anything, you shall warn them for me.
If I tell the wicked, “O wicked one, you shall surely die, ”
and you do not speak out to dissuade the wicked from his way,
the wicked shall die for his guilt,
but I will hold you responsible for his death.
But if you warn the wicked,
trying to turn him from his way,
and he refuses to turn from his way,
he shall die for his guilt,
but you shall save yourself.

Reading 2
Romans 13:8-10
Brothers and sisters:
Owe nothing to anyone, except to love one another;
for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery;
you shall not kill; you shall not steal; you shall not covet, ”
and whatever other commandment there may be,
are summed up in this saying, namely,
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 
Love does no evil to the neighbor;
hence, love is the fulfillment of the law.


Gospel
Matthew 18:15-20
Jesus said to his disciples:
“If your brother sins against you,
go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. 
If he listens to you, you have won over your brother.
If he does not listen,
take one or two others along with you,
so that ‘every fact may be established
on the testimony of two or three witnesses.’
If he refuses to listen to them, tell the church. 
If he refuses to listen even to the church,
then treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector.
Amen, I say to you,
whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven,
and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Again, amen, I say to you,
if two of you agree on earth
about anything for which they are to pray,
it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father. 
For where two or three are gathered together in my name,
there am I in the midst of them.”
