Long Before I Ever Called Your Name, You Were Fighting for My Victory, When Your Love Moves In, All of My Fears, Like Jericho Walls, Come Down!

Jericho By Andrew Ripp on GodTube

I love this song by Andrew Ripp! We need to take all these fears away and tear down all these walls like God told the Jewish people to do at Jericho! God said to Joshua, 'See I have given you the city.'  Ripp said that "It wasn't the marching around the walls of Jericho that made them fall, it was the moment Joshua BELIEVED God over his circumstance that the city became his. Marching was just an exercise in faith and obedience." Ripp wrote this song based on this story and his own struggle with addiction, now sober for many years. We can all do all things through Jesus Christ! God will give us the strength like he did for Joshua and Andrew, tear down those walls, remove all the fear, God is fighting for our victory when you let His love into your heart and be a part of your life. You do not need to do anything alone, to fight a battle, to walk on this Earth by yourself. God will be with you always! He will be your blessing and miracle when you least expect it. Whether you believe it or not or feel God, He is real, he is behind you, He loves you, He forgives you, and His mercy is never ending. Turn it all over to Him and let Him handle it all for you. He can give you that peace!

The lyrics to the song include:
"I was stacking up the years
I spent trading punches with the enemy
Built myself a double thick stone tower of lies,
Higher than the eye could see
Trapped in this flesh and bone
Crying out to You Lord, I’m desperate
Love come rattle this cage and set me free

All of my fears, like Jericho walls,
Gotta come down, come down
All of my fears, like Jericho walls,
Gotta come down, come down
Oh Lord, my prison turns to ruin
When Your love moves in
All of my fears, like Jericho walls,
Gotta come down, come down Come down

Truth was crashing through the pride and the blame
Cutting straight into the heart of me
Long before I ever called your name
You were fighting for my victory
Carved in Your flesh and bone
Are wounds that have said my souls forgiven
Oh now I can feel the darkness trembling

Rebuild me from the ground up
All I wanna see is You
Terrify the lies with truth..."
