Happy Hanukkah! God's Favor Upon Us! Hope! Miracles and Blessings Abound!

Happy Hanukkah! I hope your Chanukah dedication celebration is meaningful and brings more peace and hope to you and your family! May God bless you all as you celebrate this holiday that commemorates the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. As you celebrates freedom from oppression and are given the light of hope, may it live in your hearts forever knowing God is there looking out for all of us who believe and have hope.

At church in the mass the readings for this week were touching for us. The Gospel said:
Gospel, Luke 21:25-28, 34-36
25 'There will be signs in the sun and moon and stars; on earth nations in agony, bewildered by the turmoil of the ocean and its waves;
26 men fainting away with terror and fear at what menaces the world, for the powers of heaven will be shaken.
27 And then they will see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28 When these things begin to take place, stand erect, hold your heads high, because your liberation is near at hand.'
34 'Watch yourselves, or your hearts will be coarsened by debauchery and drunkenness and the cares of life, and that day will come upon you unexpectedly,
35 like a trap. For it will come down on all those living on the face of the earth.
36 Stay awake, praying at all times for the strength to survive all that is going to happen, and to hold your ground before the Son of man.'

The readings from church this week were really touching. We need to have hope and be prepared. The priest was really good during his homily focusing on how important it is to have hope. He said things are never going to be the same since the Covid pandemic and we need to be prepared and also have hope during these crazy times. Like with Hanukkah, hope is so important. A real gift from God. All we can do is have hope and be as prepared as possible. Enjoy lighting your menorah, praying, and having hope in God!

We got our Christmas tree yesterday at Lowe's, Douglas Fir. We are putting red, white, and blue lights on it, to celebrate Carlos getting his citizenship this year. It is going to be a real festival of lights for us I guess this Christmas. It has been very peaceful in the country. We really love our country home and beach here. Well, we hope you are well and enjoy your holy days with your family and are reinvigorated and filled with God's hope and love in your life. Happy Hanukkah! God bless you always! Many blessings and God's favor always!
