Another Miracle from Jesus in the Bible, We Must Never Forget His Miracles Then or Now!

There was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
Now there is in Jerusalem at the Sheep Gate
a pool called in Hebrew Bethesda, with five porticoes.
In these lay a large number of ill, blind, lame, and crippled.
One man was there who had been ill for thirty-eight years.
When Jesus saw him lying there
and knew that he had been ill for a long time, he said to him,
"Do you want to be well?"
The sick man answered him,
"Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool
when the water is stirred up;
while I am on my way, someone else gets down there before me."
Jesus said to him, "Rise, take up your mat, and walk."
Immediately the man became well, took up his mat, and walked.
Now that day was a sabbath.
So the Jews said to the man who was cured,
"It is the sabbath, and it is not lawful for you to carry your mat."
He answered them, "The man who made me well told me,
'Take up your mat and walk.'"
They asked him,
"Who is the man who told you, 'Take it up and walk'?"
The man who was healed did not know who it was,
for Jesus had slipped away, since there was a crowd there.
After this Jesus found him in the temple area and said to him,
"Look, you are well; do not sin any more,
so that nothing worse may happen to you."
The man went and told the Jews
that Jesus was the one who had made him well.
Therefore, the Jews began to persecute Jesus
because he did this on a sabbath.

-John 5:1-16

The miracles of Jesus are just as abundant today as they were when He walked the Earth and these accounts of His miracles were written in the Bible. This one in John is a good one to remember. It was the Gospel reading for today at mass. A great reminder that Jesus performed so many miracles! He still does today, but we seem to forget this. Like the miracle in the Sunday mass where he cured a blind man, he cured and healed so many! These people were not necessarily sinner, nor their family or parents, God used them to she the miraculous power of Jesus Christ and how He can heal and perform miracles so we will believe. Do you believe? God healed as well in the Old Testament. He also used His powers and gave them to others, like with Moses parting the Red Sea. In Exodus He said, "I am the Lord that heals you." We serve a great God! He is still performing miracles and healing today! Look at Joel Osteen's mother still alive after being told in 1981 she would die soon of her cancer. I have heard so many stories of healing. We had a friend in school up the road from us, Brad, he had cancer, his mother was so distraught, we all prayed, we went to church, we prayed and prayed, he overcame his cancer as a teen. It was a miracle too. I have heard of so many stories of healing and miracles, there are even some books on them as noted on this blog. This blog is all about miracles. God's miracles! This Bible verse is another nice reminder for us of the miracles Jesus performed when he walked here on this Earth. We need to trust in Him, believe, have faith, pray, and know our hope in Him and his healing and miracles is possible, as all is possible through Christ! Miracles can happen at any time of the day or week!
