God's Wisdom with His Length of Days in One Hand and Riches and Honor in the Other, We Are Blessed!

Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honor. 

- Proverbs 3:16

A long life is not in itself a blessing some may say. The Mornings With God App had a nice write-up and Bible verse today about a long life, money, riches, and what we should do about it all, how are ultimately goal is to get into Heaven, so all decisions we make should hinge on this  as we live on this Earth School. The App said, "There is a legend of one who had a promise that the thing he asked for, whatever it might be, he would get. He prayed that he might not die, and his request was granted. He lived on and on. But he had forgotten to ask that he might not grow old, and so his gift became an intolerable burden. No doubt right living tends to longevity. Sin shortens life. One year of wise and Christ–like living, earnest and faithful, is better than ten years of selfishness and sin. “Riches and honor” are part of wisdom’s portion. It may not be this world’s riches and honor. True riches are those we can carry out of this world with us. Wisdom teaches us how to use even money so that it shall enrich us in eternity. What we keep and spend on ourselves we lose. What we give away in Christ’s name is all we really make our own forever. What we sacrifice for Christ we shall find again and have forever." It is like the Application of the Holy Spirit Prayer, we cannot be illusioned by things of this world, material, carnal, or otherwise, our ultimate goal should be to get into Heaven and spend eternity with Jesus there. Money is not everything. I like to donate lots of mine to some good causes, like St. Jude's Hospital, The Shriner's Hospital, 40 Days for Life, PreBorn, and my universities I attended, causes that make a difference and are appreciative of my donations. My big passion now is abortion, I pray daily to end it and donate to causes that work to end it to save innocent, helpless, voiceless babies. Doing more for others and using our money to help others like this can then help us in the future to get into Heaven!
