Choosing Life and Following Jesus, God's Promises to Our Forefathers Hold True Today!

 

I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore choose life, so that you and your descendants may live, and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

-Deuteronomy 30:19-20

We have been given a choice here on Earth! We can choose death and not follow God or have a chance to go to Heaven and spend eternity with Him, or we can follow Jesus and have eternal life to spend eternity with Him in Heaven. We all have a choice in life, we can live our lives upright and holy following Jesus to ensure we go to Heaven to spend eternity with Him, or we can live a life unholy and deceitful following the ways of Satan and going to Hell with Him. He wants our souls too, there is a competition going on for us between good and bad, God and Evil, we can decide now do we want to go to Heaven, is that our number one priority? Or do we not care about our salvation to follow God nor care if we go to hell? We have a choice, but when we get to Heaven we will be happy and want to stay there, while on Earth we can decide and do what we need to do to ensure we go to Heaven. We also can not follow Jesus and be consumed by this world, all the greed, corruption, deceit, fraud, bribery, and bad things, a lot of what many elected, government, powerful people decide to do, and they have no chance then to repent once they leave this Earth and go to hell, once you go to hell, you have no chance to go back to Earth or Heaven, what do you choose? Who will you follow? We need to live positive, joyful, hopeful lives with the Holy Spirit within, we need to choose life and follow Christ, we can overcome death as well, like Jesus, to spend eternity in Heaven with Him. This morning on the Discovering the Jewish Jesus, Rabbi Schneider spoke of this dilemma, we have choices in life, which will you choose? Do you know where you want to go? What can you do now to ensure you get into Heaven? God has set before all of us, life and death, which will you choose? Don't let death own you, choose life!
