Being Examples of Jesus When we Practice what We Preach!

Knowledge is vain and fruitless, which is not reduced to practice.

⏤ Matthew Henry

Many of us say we are Christians, yet do not act Christian-like sometimes. Even that goes for clergy. We have all heard and seen in the news or experienced our own experiences with bad examples of priests and clergy. Some priests act just like the rich man in the Bible who looks down at and ignores Lazarus, the poor man hanging outside his house just looking for scraps and wanting some attention, priests today behave the same way, they ignore their parishioners and act just like the priests, pharisees, Sanhedrin, and scribes of the time of Jesus. Jesus rebuked them publicly and called them hypocrites, because they know the holy laws, preach them, but do not follow them themselves, they do not practice what they preach. Jesus called them on it, they got afraid of Him, then worked to have Him murdered, crucified. They were terrified by Jesus, He practiced what He preached, loved everyone, did not judge or prejudge or assume about others, he knew, unlike priests. Today we see so many in leadership who have all the power and authority, yet use their power to persecute and hurt others. They ignore and believe they are higher and above the rest and can just sweep you under the rug or ignore you or treat you disrespectfully. Bottomline, we all really need to work toward practicing what we preach, be more like Jesus, He gave us an example. I pray each day and week and before I receive communion at mass each time that I may receive the communion and it may help me to be more like Jesus who I am receiving. My goal is to make getting into Heaven my number one priority. It may not sound humble, but all that I have done in life in my life, career, family, I truly just want to be like Jesus and spend eternity with Him in Heaven when I leave this Earth School. While living on this school, we learn a lot about what is good and what is bad, what to do and what not to do. It is critical we need to following the teachings of Jesus, abide by the 10 Commandments, and be people of goodwill, practicing what we preach and being the best examples of Jesus in this Earth School that we can.
