Wisdom from Bishop Sheen about the Political Rich and the Envy of the Poor

Our modern world has produced a generation of rich politician who talk love of the poor, but never prove it in action, and a brood of the poor whose hearts are filled with envy for the rich and covetousness of their money.

-The Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen, 1895-1979

What a quote and so fitting for today. We see both ends of this today. We see it in the elected and politicians selling their souls and country for all the money in China. We see it in the immigrants wanting to come to the USA and other countries in droves to have a better life and more money, the envy and becoming rich is such a driving factor today, as if being rich will bring happiness or peace, like the rich and the poor both think. Pray for them.  It is better to be content with where God has you. Be confident and secure in what God has in store for your lives. Don't seek power and money, yet have to be crooked and compromise your principles to get there like most elected do today, all for greed, power, and ego. Many immigrants come, yet miss their families or become addicts or lose their souls in trying to get rich and forget God and a simple life God originally gave them. They get envious and jealous wanting more. There is a happy medium for sure! We need to stay confident in where God has us. Ask Him daily as you count your blessings to lead you, guide you, instruct you and always able to accept His will be done in our lives. Don't live with an insecurity complex to be rich, listen and follow God, let His will be done and be confident and secure in knowing God has you where He wants you to be.  Trust in the Lord. Jesus, I trust in You. I liked all these quotes and sayings about rich and poor and crooked politicians, that is what we have today mostly. We all need to be careful not to become slaves to Satan and want to be either rich or powerful which leads to being crooked, envy is not healthy either. There are a lot of insecure people out there, both rich and poor, be secure in yourself, confident that God has you where you need to be. His peace is what is most important!
