Love All People for Their Sake, Not for Our Own!

The king said, ... Where is he? ... Then king David sent, and fetched him.

 ~2 Samuel 9:4-5

We need to learn to love all people. This is what Jesus and God want from us. To be examples like Jesus to all while on this Earth School. Unfortunately, today, many could care less about others, or only care for some benefit they may receive from the other, they have a stake in a friendship or relationship for  that reason only.  Kant believes that disinterested is best not to be perceived to be defined as a lack of interest shown by being indifferent. But, its focus is on the artwork itself, which speaks to finding satisfaction in the way the work of art appears; for its own sake only. The Mornings with God App had a prayer and write-up about all of this today related to David and how he wanted to bring to the table a former king of sorts who lost his chance at the table.

The Mornings With God App said, "This showed David’s disinterestedness. This poor lame man could not be of any use to him. It was the pure friendship of David’s heart for Jonathan that hungered to show kindness to some one who had belonged to Jonathan. Friendship is true just in proportion as it is disinterested. If we care for a person and do things for him only for what we expect or hope to get in return, let us not desecrate the sacred name of friendship by applying it to our regard. We must love our friends for their sake, not for our own. There is really very much disinterested love in this world. We see it in many homes where an invalid wife, child, brother or sister, is loved and cared for by the whole household with almost divine tenderness. The misfortune that mars the beauty and makes the loved one a burden, not a help, only makes the love the stronger, truer, gentler. All friendship must have the same disinterestedness."

I think we need to be careful today. We see a fragile society where even family, friends, coworkers, colleagues, and others can all be so apathetic, indifferent, disassociated, and complete cancel people or dismissive them, or completely ignore them or cannot be bothered with them. Not until they need anything. We even see priests and people of the clothe behave this way, or family and loved ones, people just completely ignore you or blow you off as if you or your feelings or questions or concerns are important. Our society has changed a lot. We really lack Jesus Christ in us, following His example, and model of how we are supposed to behave while we go about this Earth School journey.  We all need to listen more, care, show interest, show respect, and love all people for their sake, not for our own or for something we can get out of them. Please pray for the world and all God's people. Times have changed a lot, the indifference is real and sad to see. Bishop Fulton Sheen even says that indifference is not that far away from hate, as one won't care or take a stand or show an interest. Today all friendship and relationship must have the same disinterestedness!  We need to care for others, just to care for them!
