Happy Flag Day--A Day Filled with Lots of Red, White, and Blue!

We take the stars from heaven, the red from our mother country, separating it by white stripes, thus showing that we have separated from her, and the white stripes shall go down to posterity, representing our liberty.

- George Washington

To survive in peace and harmony, united and strong, we must have one people, one nation, one flag.

- Pauline Hanson

When we honor our flag, we honor what we stand for as a Nation -- freedom, equality, justice, and hope.

- Ronald Reagan

Today is Flag Day in the USA! We all usually put our flags out. I know I did. My spouse also made some fruit this morning for us, it was a surprise, but was also red, white, and blue, apples, bananas, strawberries, and blueberries. They all taste so good together, who knew? We live in times where so many do not take pride in their country or flag. Our world has become so global, mixed, and diverse that often it seems like we live in a little Babylon with so many speaking so many languages, and no one has a real loyalty to any country or flag anymore. Almost like we are losing our original identity like we had when we were younger. Times have changed for sure. People who are patriotic today are often ridiculed or called names like nationalist. There is a lot of strife today in this country and world, the political correctness and not wanting to hurt anyone else's heritage or background. It is likely harder now for many who were born in this country and their parents too. It almost seems like the older generations of Americans are discriminated against more as too patriotic. I love the quotes above, all of them are so nice. The Hanson quote raises a good point for what we need in the USA to have peace and harmony, one flag, people, and nation.  I liked that our First President, President Washington spoke of the flag and that the stars represent stars from Heaven, He had God in Him! God bless America!

I loved as a child we always recited the Pledge of Allegiance each day in school!

We are one nation under God!

God bless the USA!
