If people only realized that there are things that will never fade or disappear, they would stop living for material wealth. They would pass by these glittering illusions and seek the true riches. The one who is rich toward God is the real millionaire!

Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not?

- Proverbs 23:5

If people only realized that there are things that will never fade or disappear, they would stop living for material wealth. They would pass by these glittering illusions and seek the true riches. The one who is rich toward God is the real millionaire! I think this is so true, I know a lot of people even family members that seem to think money, land, and material goods are what make them. They act as if all this land will bring them more happiness. Or gold, silver, material goods will make them powerful and successful. So many today are consumed by this material world we live in. But it is all deception, only Jesus can bring us true peace and happiness in this world. We need to follow Him, we need to reflect and imitate Him! That is what truly matters.

The Mornings With God App today said, "People are often deceived by what they consider valuable in this world. They believe that the things they can see—gold, land, and stocks—are the true treasures. They work hard to acquire these, thinking they are building wealth. They live in luxury, surrounded by fine houses and all the trappings of success, calling themselves millionaires. But one day, these supposed riches can vanish, flying away like birds. Or, they might keep their wealth, but when they die, none of it can go with them. When a rich man dies, people ask, “How much did he leave?” The answer is always the same: “He left it all.” If people only realized that there are things that will never fade or disappear, they would stop living for material wealth. They would pass by these glittering illusions and seek the true riches. The one who is rich toward God is the real millionaire."

I often feel so many compete so much today. Even siblings compete, one has a camp, the other has to buy one. One gets a boat, the other then too, a motorcycle, a lot of land, money, power, titles, etc. So many today forget about God. They cannot even be bothered to go to church, read the Bible, call or get back to family when they write or call, we live in a very selfish and sin-filled world. They act like they can take all of this with them. They forget about what is important. We need to know, Jesus is important, going to Heaven is important, loving others is important, family is important. We should not be living for material wealth, such glittering illusions, we need to seek riches in Jesus and Heaven, not be disillusioned by things of this world, we need to want to spend eternity with Jesus in Heaven, that is what really matters in this life, this Earth School journey!
