If we love one another, God remains in us, and his love is brought to perfection in us!

Beloved, if God so loved us,
we also must love one another.
No one has ever seen God.
Yet, if we love one another, God remains in us,
and his love is brought to perfection in us.
This is how we know that we remain in him and he in us,
that he has given us of his Spirit.
Moreover, we have seen and testify
that the Father sent his Son as savior of the world.
Whoever acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God,
God remains in him and he in God.
We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us.
God is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him.
In this is love brought to perfection among us,
that we have confidence on the day of judgment
because as he is, so are we in this world.
There is no fear in love,
but perfect love drives out fear
because fear has to do with punishment,
and so one who fears is not yet perfect in love.

~1 John 4:11-18

If we love one another, God remains in us, and his love is brought to perfection in us! We are called to love others, show love, and be love like Jesus! We are called to reflect Jesus, to follow and imitate Him! While many of us do this, there are always others that knock you for being love, for showing an interest, or for doing nice things. I try hard to be love to all. It is not always appreciated for sure. This Bible reading from the mass today resonated with me as it is so true.  I buy flowers for someone who lost someone to be treated very poorly and ignored. We show interest and love toward the new priest, to be ignored and mistreated completely. I write texts of happy birthday, happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, to go ignored and no response or recognition. There is so much hate and cancel culture today in our society, even among our family and people we thought were friends. It is sad to see. Some say it is the vaccine, others say it is the apathy of today, who knows? All I know is we are supposed to be all about love, showing love, being like Jesus and I am reminded by St. Mother Teresa who says do it anyway, love anyway, although many may ignore you or not appreciate it, do it anyway! Show love anyway!
