Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world.

~2 John 1:7

We need to acknowledge Jesus! We need to follow Him, to reflect and imitate Him! God gave Him to us as our model of how to live on this Earth School journey. We are deceived all the time today. Our governments, elected, powers that be deceive us each day. We are controlled and slaves to things of this world. It has advanced so in the past many years, to so much greed, selfishness, and corruption. We are being deceived by so much. Often it is hard to believe most of what we are fed today, even what we are given as food to eat, medications, news, media, everything is a lie, so much deception from the powers that be today. There are a lot of slaves of Satan in control today, they want you, they want your soul, they do not want you following Jesus, reading the Bible, or saying a rosary.

Our Daily Bread today had a nice write up, story, prayer, they said, "In April 1817, a disoriented young woman was found wandering around in Gloucestershire, England, wearing exotic clothes and speaking an unknown language. Assuming she was a beggar, authorities placed her in prison. However, she convinced her captors that she was Princess Caraboo from the island of Javasu. For ten weeks, the community treated her as royalty until a boardinghouse keeper revealed that the woman was, in fact, a servant girl named Mary Willcocks. We may wonder how this young woman deceived an entire community for almost three months. But the book of 2 John warns us that deception is nothing new as it mentions “many deceivers who . . . have gone out into the world” (1:7). These are people who deny that Jesus Christ came “in the flesh” (v. 7), or those who go beyond what Christ taught (v. 9)—proclaiming that the Bible isn’t adequate for us today. Both these types of deceivers can cause us to not “receive [our] full reward” (v. 8 nlt) and can even trick us into helping them in their work (v. 11). No one likes to be deceived. The people of Gloucestershire didn’t lose much, just some clothing and a few meals. But the Bible says that the consequences of sin and deception continue to threaten us. As we engage with Scripture, God will help us avoid deception as we “walk in obedience to his commands” (v. 6). "

If we want to receive our great reward in Heaven, we need to follow Jesus! We need to imitate and reflect Him! The Bible says that the consequences of sin and deception continue to threaten us. We need to stay focused on God, to follow Jesus, to read our Bibles, and be upright and holy. Deception has been a big part of the plan from the powers that be for a very long time, much has been perpetuated. Today we even have many of the cloth who deceive, they use Jesus and the Bible to make a lot of money or to appease old ladies, but do not really live like Jesus wants us to do or treat people that way He wants us to. We can be slaves for Satan and deceive too, or we can be loving, kind, caring, and upright, holy people following Jesus Christ, imitating and reflecting Him. It is up to us. Deception by humans is unavoidable, humans will always disappoint, but God never will. His truth in Jesus Christ is truth, as He is the light, the truth, and the way!
