This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah! Jesus knew what they would do to Him!

 

While still more people gathered in the crowd, Jesus said to them,

"This generation is an evil generation;

it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it,

except the sign of Jonah.

Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites,

so will the Son of Man be to this generation.

At the judgment

the queen of the south will rise with the men of this generation

and she will condemn them,

because she came from the ends of the earth

to hear the wisdom of Solomon,

and there is something greater than Solomon here.

At the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation

and condemn it,

because at the preaching of Jonah they repented,

and there is something greater than Jonah here."

~Luke 11:29-32

Well Jesus was right that this generation is an evil generation; we see it today in our society, especially from all the corrupt, greedy, and selfish people, many elected and powers that be are some of the worst, it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah! Jesus knew what they would do to Him! He knew they evil of some people. He also knew that some people are good, they are Christ-like and can love like He did. He died for all of us, for all of our sins, we are called to change, to follow Him, to reflect and imitate Him! When we do, we are promised life eternal in Heaven with Jesus! Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation, Jesus has already told us what we need to do! It is written in the Bible. We are called to follow Him! God gave us Jesus as our Emmanuel, our God with us, He is our model, our example of how to live, what we must do, how we need to turn to evil and be upright and holy like Him! We are called to something greater! We are called to repent! Will you answer the call of Jesus?
