We can only be saved by being personally right with God! When we give ourselves to God for whatever work He has for us, the heavens open again, and we receive the Spirit and hear the Father’s approval!

The voice of one crying in the wilderness.

~Matthew 3:3

We can only be saved by being personally right with God! When we give ourselves to God for whatever work He has for us, the heavens open again, and we receive the Spirit and hear the Father’s approval! What a blessing from our Maker! We need to be right with Him and be His disciple! We need to prepare, be ready!

The Mornings With God App today said, "It’s a good thing to be a voice if it’s a voice dedicated to God. John was a voice, telling people that Jesus was coming. It’s wonderful to have a noble family history, but we aren’t saved by our lineage. Being part of Abraham’s family wasn’t enough to save anyone, even though it was a great lineage. In the same way, it’s not enough to have had a godly grandfather, though that is a great legacy. We can only be saved by being personally right with God. The baptism of Jesus was His consecration to His role as the Messiah. He knew what it meant. The shadow of the cross was already present as He stood by the Jordan, but He didn’t hesitate. He accepted His anointing and moved forward with His mission. When we give ourselves to God for whatever work He has for us, the heavens open again, and we receive the Spirit and hear the Father’s approval."

The message above from the Mornings with God App today really resonated with me. It is so true, we need to know our mission, but it really should be God's for us. We need to follow Him, be right with Him. He gave us Jesus as our example, our model of who to follow, reflect, and imitate, we are called to do this and be disciples leading all others we come across to bring them to Heaven too, helping as many as we can to be saved. We have a holy calling. Few words can help often, we can accept or deny mediocrity and things of this world and decide only to follow God. We are all sinners, we may all come from the same family, but how we live is what matters, how we follow Jesus and reflect and imitate Him, that is what matters, to do what is right and to be right with God! We must give ourselves to Him and His promise of Heaven can be ours!  We need to prepare for God! Have a blessed Ash Wednesday and reflective Lent!
