What will be your legacy? What has God charged you to do in this life? Do you want to be charged too to build a house for the Lord?

 

He ... charged him to build an house for the Lord. 

~ 1 Chronicles 22:6

What do you have left to do? What things will be undone before you die? Do you have more goals in life? Projects you want to accomplish before you time is up? What is important to you? Do you too want to build a house for the Lord? What legacy do you want to leave for humanity and family? Will you leave things that others can build on and advance into the future after you are gone? What do you hear in you from God to do before you leave this Earth School?

The Mornings With God App had a nice reminder for us today, it said, "David was nearing the end of his life, and he had to leave unfinished the great work he’d hoped to complete. Moses, too, died before entering the Promised Land. Raphael’s painting of the Transfiguration was never finished. The historian Buckle, dying in his prime, cried out, “My book! – My book!” Two volumes of his planned work on civilization were complete, but he didn’t live to finish it. Even Disraeli, though old and honored, lamented, “I am overwhelmed!” in his final moments, thinking of the goals he hadn’t achieved. David didn’t get to see all his dreams realized, but it’s a comfort to a good father when he can entrust his unfinished work to a son who will faithfully carry it on. It should be the highest ambition of a son to continue his father’s legacy, to build upon the foundation his father laid."

I know that I am retired now as of December. I had a blessed career as an educator for 38 years, 28.5 at my university I spent the tenure of my career at. I have been blessed by God. I have had so many privileges and breaks. I have done so much, had great students, won many teaching awards, written and published over 100 peer-reviewed papers, book chapters, a book, and hundreds of presentations, just so much service. I am blessed for sure and I owe it all to God, my parents, and mentors. I know others will build on my research and writing and continue to make a difference in this world. I still have some more to do. I hope to do one more book I have ready to publish soon. My goals have changed a lot the past few years. My goal is more of a disciple for Christ now with my blogs. I want people to know Jesus, be happy, and get to Heaven by following Jesus. Do you want to make your legacy as well to help with building a house for the Lord? This is important to me now, more than my mathematics education research track. God gave me a gift to write, to do His will, and to follow Jesus and that is what I hope to continue to do until my time is up on this Earth School journey, as I want to go to spend life eternal in Heaven with Jesus when I leave this Earth!
