You judge by appearances, but I do not judge anyone. And even if I should judge, my judgement is valid, because I am not alone, but it is I and the Father who sent me!

Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world.
Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have
the light of life." So the Pharisees said to him, "You testify
on your own behalf, so your testimony cannot be verified."
Jesus answered and said to them, "Even if I do testify
on my own behalf, my testimony can be verified,
because I know where I came from and where I am going.
But you do not know where I come from or where I am going.
You judge by appearances, but I do not judge anyone.
And even if I should judge, my judgement is valid,
because I am not alone, but it is I and the Father
who sent me. Even in your law it is written
that the testimony of two men can be verified.
I testify on my behalf and so does the Father who sent me."
So they said to him, "Where is your father?" Jesus answered,
"You know neither me nor my Father. If you knew me,
you would know my Father also." He spoke these words
while teaching in the treasury in the temple area.
But no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.

~John 8:12-20

Jesus said, "You judge by appearances, but I do not judge anyone. And even if I should judge, my judgement is valid, because I am not alone, but it is I and the Father who sent me." This judgement issue is one of the biggest problems today in our society. So many judge, they do it just with appearances. My spouse and I have been victims of this so many times. The judgement leads to hate and false judgement when we do this. It is wrong. One thing all humans need to be careful with is judging others. Even in the Book of Matthews, Chapter 7 they talk a lot about judging others and how it is wrong, at the end of that chapter they point out how even the priest, Pharisees, and church leaders do this a lot and how they are such hypocrites, much like what is shown here in this verse by John. We need to refrain from judging, forming opinions, or making false testimony toward others, it is not healthy for any of us in this world. With this judgement comes hate, jealousy, envy, greed, and so much more. It hurts us all. Our society would be much better off if we could all refrain from judging others the world would be a better place for sure. We all need to be more grateful, to be more loving, positive, and joyful in the Lord and not judge like Jesus spoke about here! When we do not judge, we too can be lights of the world for others!
