Life is God’s gift to us, a sacred trust for which we will have to give account. As long as God keeps us alive, He has something for us to do. Our prayers should be for strength to carry our burdens and to do our duty courageously until the end!
He requested for himself that he might die.
- 1 Kings 19:4
It is so true that life is God’s gift to us, a sacred trust for which we will have to give account. As long as God keeps us alive, He has something for us to do. Our prayers should be for strength to carry our burdens and to do our duty courageously until the end of our God-given life here on this Earth School journey. We need to thank God daily for life, saying this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. I know some people sometimes in their lives feel despair, they just feel they can't go on, like Elijah, I know when I was growing up as a teen I felt this way sometime, it was hard. Thank God for my faith and family. As I get older, I value life more and know God has me here for a reason, to write this blog, to be His disciple, to love others the best I can like Jesus.
The Mornings With God App today said, "Elijah was in a state of despair when he prayed this unworthy prayer. He wasn’t afraid—he was discouraged. It seemed to him that all the struggle on Mount Carmel had been for nothing. It’s a sad scene—this great prophet lying under a little bush in the wilderness, begging to die. This is one of the unanswered prayers of the Bible, and it’s a good thing God didn’t answer it. If Elijah had died then, what a sad and inglorious end his life would have had! Instead, he went on to do more great work and ultimately avoided death altogether. It’s never right to wish for death. Life is God’s gift to us, a sacred trust for which we will have to give account. As long as God keeps us alive, He has something for us to do. Our prayers should be for strength to carry our burdens and to do our duty courageously until the end."
God has put all of us here for a reason, even when we feel that all we have done is not enough and we feel distraught and in despair, we need to know we have a purpose from God here, many of us are called to be disciples, and do good while on this Earth School journey. Life is not always easy for anyone of us, it is hard, other people and situations are the cause mostly, humans disappoint, but God never will. Elijah felt he could not go on, yet God still had more for him to do, to make a difference in this world. When we are frustrated, we need to turn it all over to God, but not wish to die, just to ask for help, when we are sick, injured, cancelled, dismissed, hurt, offended, etc. We need to gather hope again through prayer, gratitude, positivity, love, and joy in the Lord, to sustain us to give us hope and life again to get through troubled times. Christian music helps me a lot, and prayer, I think God every day for all! I am blessed, and I know I felt like Elijah in the past, today I hope for a long happy life, for another 50-100 years to keep making a difference in this world for the Lord!
