When troubles come...sing His praises with much joy!
...when troubles come...sing His praises with much joy.
-Psalm 27:5-6
Yes, when troubles come...sing His praises with much joy! That is what we need to do! I was reading my Day by Day book by Billy Graham and he had a nice reminder with this Bible verse today. I love his book and prayers, he was a great preacher, a true disciple for Christ. My father always loved his TV shows and crusades. I agree that a cure for depression or troubles is counting our blessings, sing praise to the Lord, thank Him, sing praises to Him, He cares and loves us all so much and it can help us not to fall into self-pity and depression. We can all get down sometimes, this world and people have a way of bringing us down, hurting us, persecuting us, hating us, judging, and being mean. There is a lot of hate, insecurity, envy, and jealousy today, I know I have felt my share directed toward me, the persecution can be unbearable sometimes, yes we all have troubles, a loss, an illness, hate, persecution, an accident, a vice, all the troubles that are out there can be inflicted on us, but we have something greater than them, we have God, and David reminds us in this Psalm that even when we have troubles, we need to learn to praise the Lord with joy, to count our blessings! We need to pray, Psalms are prayers of thanks and joy to the Lord, they are a great reminder for all of us, and this one is key, do not fall into self-pity and depression, turn it over to God, count your blessings, pray, sing His praises with much joy! God is really always so good to all of us!
