Are you walking and living on this Earth School journey with a holy calling?
As a prisoner in the Lord, then, I urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling you have received: ⏤ Ephesians 4:1
Prayer is not overcoming God’s reluctance, but laying hold of His willingness.
⏤ Martin Luther
The Mornings with God App had a nice prayer, Bible verse, and write-up today. It made me think about how we all live on this Earth. We go to a gym and shops, drive around and see so much selfishness and aggression today in how people behave. So many are so selfish, only thinking of themselves, not in others around them. We lack that holy calling of Jesus in our lives, to love like Him, to think of others, to remove selfishness, greedy, envy, jealousy, and our insecurities. We live too much for this Earthly world, not thinking of the promise Jesus offers us in Heaven, going home to a better place when we leave here, to life eternal in Heaven with Jesus!
The Mornings with God App today said, "O Jesus, You have called us with a holy calling. We desire to be worthy of the honor You have bestowed upon us. You have redeemed us by Your blood. You have taken us into fellowship with Yourself. You are not ashamed to call us brethren. You have made us heirs of God, joint heirs with You. You have given us eternal life! Make us indeed worthy of this exalted honor. Cleanse and purify us, that we may be like You in spirit, disposition, and character. Give us the same desires that are in Your heart, that we may hate what You hate and love what You love. May we be partakers in Your work for the upbuilding of Your cause and the extension of Your kingdom. Give us this day the same mind that was in You. You left Your heavenly glory and became human, that You might be our Redeemer. You lived to serve, giving out Your life in unsparing service, even dying in love for Your people. We desire to have the same spirit. Save us from all selfishness, which would lead us to withhold ourselves from serving others with the best that is in us. Save us from all pride, which would lead us to think of ourselves more highly than we ought to think, and may we always be clothed with humility. Lead us into Your ways of service. Lord Jesus, help us to live this day as You would live if You were here in our place. May we be holy, harmless, undefiled, and separate from sinners. May we be kind in all our family relationships and with those outside. Help us to be diligent in all our business. May we live unspotted from the world. Bless us in all ways in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." Found at: https://www.youdevotion.com/daily-prayer/miller/68/morning
Yes, we need to live unspotted from this world. We need to follow Jesus, to reflect, imitate, and love like Him. While it is hard, that is a our true calling. We see so much hate today, really profound hate. Almost incomprehensible. It is sad to see. We need love, we need Jesus, we need to turn our lives around and follow the holy calling God is offering us, to live in Spirit, being more like Jesus, loving all, not judging or hating, but loving, that is what really matters here, not to be slaves for Satan on this Earth world, but instead servants for Christ loving all, knowing what our true calling is, may God save us from pride and envy, and be holy to love all without judgement or criticism or hate. Yes, may we be holy, harmless, undefiled, and separate from sinners!
