Earthly sorrows make Heaven's joys shine brighter!

Earthly sorrows make Heaven's joys shine brighter!

~Richard Baxter

I just love this quote! I saw it in the Mornings with God App today! What a blessing and good reminder for us all. Yes, this Earth world journey sure does bring some sorrows, people really can bring some disappointments, this world certainly can bring you down. It can hurt when you lose a loved one, I know it was hard for me to lose my parents. Sorrows are a part of life, I had a blessed childhood, upbringing, just privileged, I have had my share of disappointments with people, but God has been on my side a lot, he saved my life when I was just a toddler and fell. He has had great plans for me.  I am blessed to be raised Catholic, to go to church, to know Jesus, and have experienced so many miracles and blessings in my life. Whether I get now Professor Emeritus after retiring, I will leave it up to God, my work when I retired was somewhat of a disappointment, after working for almost 29 years at my university, it ended up becoming very woke, with cancel culture, hate, DEI, CRT, and a lot of dismantling of people like me,  I saw a lot of envy, jealousy, and insecurity by people who hurt me, it is what it is, all water under the bridge now, so I turn it all over to God, the sorrows here will never compare to what Heaven has to offer, yes Heaven's joys shine brighter! Today when I was reading my book by Billy Graham, he told of a nice story about someone who had lost all, he lost his job, his wife left him, he lost it all, he just never understood, but still had some faith and knew there was a reason for all. He saw someone doing some work to put a large triangular piece on the top of the church, but he had to do the work at ground level first, before elevating it to the top steeple, the explanation, made sense for life too, that God works on us here at this level to prepare us for something greater, Heaven, yes we need to deal with sorrow, hate, disappointment, loss, so many things, but it makes us stronger, it prepares us to get into Heaven! No matter what happens here on Earth, we are called to follow Jesus, He is our example, our model, our mentor, we are called to follow, reflect, imitate, and love like Him, to react to and treat people like Him so that we can be ready to spend life eternal in Heaven with Jesus to experience the joys that shine brighter there! Getting into Heaven is more important to me than all these Earthly achievements which just do not compare to Heaven's joys which shine brighter!
