Jesus said He is sending us like sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and simple as doves. But beware of men...

 

Jesus said to his Apostles:

"Behold, I am sending you like sheep in the midst of wolves;

so be shrewd as serpents and simple as doves.

But beware of men,

for they will hand you over to courts

and scourge you in their synagogues,

and you will be led before governors and kings for my sake

as a witness before them and the pagans.

When they hand you over,

do not worry about how you are to speak

or what you are to say.

You will be given at that moment what you are to say.

For it will not be you who speak

but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

Brother will hand over brother to death,

and the father his child;

children will rise up against parents and have them put to death.

You will be hated by all because of my name,

but whoever endures to the end will be saved.

When they persecute you in one town, flee to another.

Amen, I say to you, you will not finish the towns of Israel

before the Son of Man comes."

Jesus said He is sending us  like sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and simple as doves. But beware of men... Well, this sure is a statement from Jesus in this Bible verse today. Do you ever feel like this, that you are in the midst of wolves? I know I do, it seems like our world is becoming crazier all the time. There is so much hate today, so much cancel culture, wokeness, and division. It is all so sad to see, especially the aggression, selfishness, greed, corruption, fraud, and mediocrity we see today in the world. People are so consumed by this world, so many do not think of God or Heaven or life eternal. They sin and sin, making excuses for killing babies, abortion, fornication, cheating stealing, lying, and hating. It is all so sad, the excuses we use as humans to justify sin. I like the idea about being simple as doves, It would be nice to see all humans as simple as doves, filled with peace and unity. We need to live in Spirit! Let Him speak for us, let us love like Jesus, even when we see and hear and experience hate. Love anyway, we are called to be like simple doves, beware, but know that God is with us, He is guiding us, let His Spirit live in you, be as simple as doves! Love anyway!
