Another Jesus miracle! Finding a coin worth twice the temple tax in a fish while fishing!

As Jesus and his disciples were gathering in Galilee,

Jesus said to them,

"The Son of Man is to be handed over to men,

and they will kill him, and he will be raised on the third day."

And they were overwhelmed with grief.

When they came to Capernaum,

the collectors of the temple tax approached Peter and said,

"Does not your teacher pay the temple tax?"

"Yes," he said.

When he came into the house, before he had time to speak,

Jesus asked him, "What is your opinion, Simon?

From whom do the kings of the earth take tolls or census tax?

From their subjects or from foreigners?"

When he said, "From foreigners," Jesus said to him,

"Then the subjects are exempt.

But that we may not offend them, go to the sea, drop in a hook,

and take the first fish that comes up.

Open its mouth and you will find a coin worth twice the temple tax.

Give that to them for me and for you."

Another Jesus miracle! Finding a coin worth twice the temple tax in a fish while fishing! We are reminded here about tax and tithing, giving what we need to give. God always provides, even putting coins in the mouth of fish to give to the temple for its tax. It is nice to be generous. It is nice to make offerings. We give to our church weekly, for special offerings the the Hope Appeal, and many other causes, I also like to donate to other charities too, not just the church we go. I donate to many things dear to me, like St. Jude's, Shriners Hospital, PreBorn, 40 Days for Life, my Alma Mata, the University of Alabama, and many others if and when they ask. Some can be piggish though and I do like to research. Others I gave to in the past then heard or experienced stories of things they have done, so do not continue donating to. I do like to have control of it. I also like to donate a lot of the money I find, I do find a lot of money, mostly coins, but usually donate it all. God has been good to us, and we need to do our part to sustain the church and the work of Jesus. Saving babies, lives, people with cancer, who are sick, preventing abortions, anything I can do. I thought that this Bible verse was interesting in that it mentions going fishing to get the money to donate to the temple. Jesus performed another miracle! Won't you follow Jesus, be a part of His plan, His love, His forgiveness, won't you reflect and imitate Him! Won't you let Jesus to reel you closer to Him?
