My heart is back home in Upstate NY where I was born and grew up! I am trusting the Spirit within to guide me home! Since I retired, I just do not feel like here in Florida is my home. I have lived here for almost 30 years, but I feel like it is time to go home! I went back to NY in June to see family for a few weeks and felt such a strong feeling inside for coming back to my roots. I wonder if others ever feel this way? I am sure they do. Where I grew up in Sauquoit, NY, it was living in the country by farms, cows, country roads, little population, and just so many wonderful memories with family and growing up there. I was blessed with great parents who raised us to be Catholic and to know Jesus. We had many wonderful aunts and uncles, cousins, friends, a great school, neighbors, just so many blessings. God has always been so good to me. While I feel blessed for my career as a professor for the past almost 29 years in Florida, it is time to start thinking about going home to my roots in NY. I want to buy a house in Waterville, close to all my brothers and sisters, there are seven of us, with so many nieces and nephews, and great ones too. I saw my only living aunt when I was there who lives in Frankfort, and my Godmother, Nancy who now lives in New Hartford, she was the one who introduced my mother and father to each other, who would of known they would marry and have so many kids. I have been looking for houses, there are slim pickings now. Praying I can find something nice, move to NY, and sell out house here in FL. We may travel in the winters south, west, or to Colombia where my spouses family is from, I just know that now since I retired, my heart in not here anymore in FL, I just want to be close to all my family in NY, my roots, my old roads I travelled, where I will be buried, and to mostly be closer to my family and church up in NY. Sometimes God plants such seeds in our hearts and minds to go back to our roots! I am trusting my deep down feelings from God! Praying it all works out, I know God's timing is always perfect!
