The Oppressor/Oppressed Mentality undermines Christianity and our US society today!

The Oppressor/Oppressed Mentality undermines Christianity and our US society today! Today we see so many social problems in our society with the push for globalization and so many people migrating to other locations all around the world. It is quite chaotic and a bit of a little Babylon in many countries and cities today/work places. In our postmodern obsession with identifying and calling out structures of power and privilege we can often end up hindering the real work of reconciliation that God wants our world, churches, and societies to do. I know in my work at the university, the past many years I saw a lot of these issues, discrimination directed to me for being a white male and born in this country, a native English speaker. There was a lot of insecurity from the foreign hires, due to language, culture, color, etc. Many had problems with American students due to accents and making connections, they become resentful, they push a lot of CRT, DEI, and woke ideology. I felt oppressed, the people from the outside, from other countries and cultures wanted us to convert to their ways, not them assimilating to the US customs. I saw insecurities as they struggled with English, publications, and student communications. While I just try to follow my religion, being Catholic and following and acting the best I can like Jesus, it is a challenge today. There really is so much discrimination today toward American born professionals from foreign born, they have in many cases become the oppressors, hating, being racist, and discriminating against the American born citizens. We even had a professor from I think Asia who said it was her goal to dismantle white privilege, which comes across sounding very racist toward some. A lot of people coming from other countries into the USA are insecure and in their efforts to try to fit in, make it all about race, color, language, etc., as if the Americans are racist, which we are not, we got beyond that back in the 1960's.

Today we see a lot of the liberal left pushing so much CRT, DEI, Trans, and woke ideology. They try to make everything out to make it politically correct. Woke ideology drives them. Although a lot of it seems to come out of insecurities and hate.  We even see it today with the agenda of hate they have against the President and the make America great again movement. They love pushing this oppressor/oppressed mentality, they are the victims and all white or American born people are the bad or evil people, but it is out of their own insecurities and it leads to envy, jealousy, and hate. Insecurities are the real problem. We see the same with all the illegal immigrants pouring into this country, they defend this lawlessness and chaos making it acceptable, but it is all really about jealousy, sin, envy,  greed, wanting more, wanting it easier, wanting it free, or all leading to a Marist or communist agenda and mentality. Insecurities, jealousy, envy, sin, and hate are all part of the larger problem. We become Godless, not following Jesus, not wanting law and order, making so many excuses for sin and hate, trying to justify it with this oppressor/oppressed mentality. So many excuses, always justifying hate, sin, protesting, and violence. It really does undermine so much in our society and world today!

The Missio Alliance and Brandon Colbert say, "No single person, regardless of their group identity, has equal amounts of privilege or obstacles to overcome. For us to fixate on who has more privilege based on their gender or race and then lump them into the category of oppressed (good) or oppressor (bad) results in and endless cycle of virtue signaling and moral outrage in our church communities. As Paul warned the church in Galatia that was similarly divided along identity lines, “If, however, you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another” (Galatians 5:15, NRSV).[https://www.missioalliance.org/when-the-oppressoroppressed-mentality-undermines-the-gospel/]

The Missio Alliance and Brandon Colbert also say, "It is easy for us to feel especially prophetic when we look at the problems of our culture and call them out using the tools of postmodern deconstruction. However, those tools often fail to help us offer a better, realistic, and workable alternative. They also blind us to the positive realities of our culture that have largely been the result of the Judeo-Christian ethic. Much like Paul refused to frame the Roman system as either inherently oppressive or virtuous, but learned how to bring reconciliation at the local level, we must do the same. It is easy to deconstruct concepts, but the work of mission means working with real people in real situations in the systems we have been given." Globalization, mass migration, and illegal immigration are not healthy for any society or country.  They create an unhealthy and lawless society, Godless, chaotic, and dysfunctional, acting like socialism and communism is the only way and right way, when it really isn't, we all need to do all with law and order, we all need to work hard and not have all given to us, we need to respect our own boundaries and territories and cultures. Dr. Michael Savage talks a lot about this in how borders, language, and culture play critical roles in a society and when they are broken, not respected, or allowing an anything goes sinless society, mass chaos explodes, and that is what we are seeing today in our societies/countries today. A lot also goes back to insecurities, envy, jealousy, greed, and all of this leads to hate, and we are seeing way too much hate today.  Sometimes we are better off being happy where God put us, accepting our lives the way He gave them to us, and not force so much globalization, migration, and competition of cultures in so many different countries. It causes chaos with this oppressor/oppressed mentality!  The oppressed they say, have become the oppressors and have shown a lot of hate and insecurities, discriminations, etc. We need to remember that no one is truly free when others are oppressed, two wrongs do not make a right! We are all equal and need to treat all equally, we need to follow Jesus, be more like Him! We need Jesus today more than ever!
