Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man!

 

Jesus said to his disciples:

"Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy

from carousing and drunkenness

and the anxieties of daily life,

and that day catch you by surprise like a trap.

For that day will assault everyone

who lives on the face of the earth.

Be vigilant at all times

and pray that you have the strength

to escape the tribulations that are imminent

and to stand before the Son of Man."

Yes, we need to be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man! Like Jesus said, beware that your hearts do not become drowsy from carousing and drunkenness and the anxieties of daily life. We need to stay sober and vigilant. We cannot afford to fall for drink, drug, vices, power, greed, titles, vanity, etc. We need to live good lives, holy, upright, and without blemish. We need to follow the example and model Jesus gave us. God gave us Jesus for this reason, we are called to follow, reflect, forgive, imitate, and love like Him! When we do, we do not need to worry, when we do our best, and live upright lives, follow and live like Jesus, we can escape the tribulations that are imminent. Put all our trust in the Lord, He is our rock, Jesus is our foundation, we must stand strong in Him! He is our ticket to Heaven, life eternal when we don't fall for things of this world! I see and know people who are even older, but they use and abuse so much pot. Today recreational pot is the big thing, it is sad to see so many have to escape this world to be high.  Other carousing, even for sex, like some priests we know, it is sad, then so many are worried, they worry about sin, things like committing an abortion, killing their baby out of a selfish act. If we live upright and holy lives, follow Jesus, tell the truth, do what is right, we do not have to worry about being caught off guard, but yes, we must be vigilant, we cannot become slaves for Satan, we cannot become consumed by things of this world. We must follow Jesus, imitate Him, love like Him and make getting into Heaven our number one priority!
