Be the best version of Jesus you can be!

~Joseph Furner

Focus on God and the goodness of Jesus, humans will always disappoint, and some will hate and hurt you too! Yes, humans disappoint, governments and elected too. God never will! When we decide to follow Jesus, when we reflect, forgive, imitate, and love like Him we can have peace, following and having faith in Him only guarantees us life eternal in Heaven! What a blessing! Today we see so many misguided people. So many who hate, who are lawless, who cancel, are selfish, who are greedy, corrupt, commit fraud, lie, cheat, steal, do so much evil. Too, there are so many as well who are jealous, envious, and insecure. They do a lot of wickedness, canceling, and hateful things because of their insecurities.  Some just think it is their right to cut you off. This week I had a lady cut right in front of me while I was driving straight ahead and she was turning left, I had the right of way, but she cut right in front of me, almost causing an accident. A very selfish act for sure, just reckless. Yes, humans disappoint. It is disappointing that we see people in positions of power like priests think it is okay to break laws or support lawlessness, or ignore you or be so indifferent as a priest to their parishioners. I know I wrote my elected a month or more now about some issues where we live, they completely ignore you, never write, call, or email you back, no response at all. So much for our elected, they disappoint a lot. I was happy though as I write a few editorials for our local paper here and they published them all, so that was a blessing. Like many, even family, friends, and loved one can hurt or disappoint us. I know I wrote my niece a while back, but she never even responded, so cannot ever bother to reply, even some of my old coworkers, I try to stay in touch, but they just cannot be bothered. Sometimes though it is all a blessing, as many are so negative today, so full of hate, TDS, anger, irrational, and without any logic or coherence, it is hard to understand haters for sure. The past several years now before I retired I was cancelled by people from work, completely ignored, cancelled, mistreated, silenced. It is all so sad, but a reality nonetheless. Even a friend of mine, an old lady teacher friend of mine cancelled me because I refused to join her hate club, she was always so negative and hateful toward President Trump and I would not join that hate club. It is all a blessing I guess, I need to look at it all that way. Yes, humans disappoint. I do a lot for my family, spouse, siblings, nieces and nephews, etc. sometimes they can be so ungrateful, like buying my sibling a brand new cellphone and also paying for the first three months of the phone plan, all to be mistreated for helping. It can be frustrating for sure. We just need to know we are trying our best to be like Jesus, not expecting anything back in return and like Jesus discovered in the readings this week. He healed ten lepers and only one came back to thank Him. A lot of people can disappoint, but not all is in vain. Yes, some will hurt you, speak ill of you, not live up to what you expected, but you need to love, forgive, not hold grudges, or let any thing humans do get you down. Do it out of love, like Jesus did. Try to be like Jesus the best you can. While humans may hurt, hate, and disappoint, God never will and all of this builds you into a better person, teaching you to love, forgive, and accept all without judgement. That is all we can do! Turn it all over to God, follow Jesus, be the best version of Jesus you can be!
