An unexamined life is not worth living!
Self-scrutiny is often the most unpleasant, and always the most difficult, of moral actions. But it is also the most important and salutary; for, as the wisest of the Greeks said, “An unexamined life is not worth living.”
— J. Strachan
Today it seems like many people live for things of this world, material, titles, power, money, the flesh. If we are going to be salutary/healthy, we need to reflect and dive in deep to our being, are we living for Christ? Are we living in Spirit? Do we know God? Are we going to church, reading the Bible, or following Jesus? Are we serving our maker and doing what He really wants us to do as we live our lives? It is hard to be self-reflective, to scrutinize our lives, to become better oftentimes, but it is worthwhile so we grow and become better human beings. Today we see so many godless people. They live for this world and become slaves for Satan and things of this world. They allow their greed, corruption, fraud, selfishness, envy, jealousy, and insecurities to make them do things that hurt themselves and others, even our society and world. Most politicians, elected, governments, and powers that be fall into this category. Very few have selfless motives. Then we wonder why the world is in the state it is in. We live in chaos, crime, corruption, it has become another Babylon falling to a real low. It really all needs to be examined, otherwise we are headed for destruction for sure as a society and humanity as a whole. We make so many excuses for sin today. There is just so much lawlessness today, all with so many excuses and justifications for it. We allow the murder of unborn babies, yet care more about saving rescue dogs. We suffer from TDS, and make so many excuses for hate, especially toward President Trump. We make a lot of excuses for hate today, for cancel culture, and woke ideology, pushing DEI, CRT, and woke ideology yet then discriminate, hate, and are racist toward other groups. The political correctness or wokeism has pushed all this social justice, but then from it all, we see so much intolerance, indifference, hate, violence, excuses for sin, and mediocrity. It is all so sad to see from so many today. The hypocrisy is alarming to witness along with all the hate today. If you talk about Jesus, or say God bless you, or even write to a family, friend, or colleague today, so many are offended if you write too much, say God bless you, or ask a question or show concern for them. They world we are living in today is certainly so different than it was when I was a child, or even in my teens, 20's 30's or so. Things even change in your family too once your parents both pass, they are the glue that hold you siblings together, once they go, it seems like even your family and siblings are no longer secure or you can count on them. I know it has happened to me, I write, call, or text family for their birthday or the holidays and they never even bother to write back or say thank you. The world has changed for sure. It has become so egocentric, so ungrateful, so arrogant almost, some even have become elitists. All of this certainly brings up many moral actions and concerns today about what is going on in our society it is hard to understand and comprehend for sure sometimes. We see so many today not examining their lives, they live for their next drink, drug, pot, tattoo, iPhone, lottery ticket, etc., they let their vices control them, living off that high like that is all there is to happiness in this life. That is why I think we need God more than ever, He is the only one who will not abandon or forsake us. I have had a blessed life, a wonderful upbringing, parents, siblings, growing up in the country, many second chances, going to college, becoming an educator, able to receive many college degrees, working up to becoming a professor, teaching and writing a lot, reflecting so much, seeing and experiencing so much good and favor. Publishing over 100 peer-reviewed papers, more presentations, many teaching awards, just so many honors. Then to be able to retire young with an incentive they offered us, to be able now to dedicate my life to being a disciple for Christ in this blog and my writing. I am blessed. I know God is using me. he shows me so much about humanity, life, and all its ills and wonders. Today we see so many on the wrong track, not heading toward Jesus or following Him, like we should be. I am sure I will continue to examine my life until I die. I am blessed and I know God has been a huge factor in it all! We need to examine our lives!
