Are you building your house/life on a rock with a strong foundation in Jesus Christ?

 

Jesus said to his disciples:

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’

will enter the Kingdom of heaven,

but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.

“Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them

will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. 

The rain fell, the floods came,

and the winds blew and buffeted the house. 

But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock. 

And everyone who listens to these words of mine

but does not act on them

will be like a fool who built his house on sand. 

The rain fell, the floods came,

and the winds blew and buffeted the house. 

And it collapsed and was completely ruined.”

Are you building your house/life on a rock with a strong foundation in Jesus Christ? Today's mass Gospel reading is a good one to keep in mind as we live! We are promised some nice things from Jesus when we build our house and life on a strong foundation, built on living and being like Him! God gave us Jesus, He is Emmanuel, God with us, we are called to follow His model and example and follow Him, we are called to reflect, forgive, imitate, and love like Jesus! When we do, that is the foundation Jesus is talking about, how we build our lives, strongly on His virtues. When we do, we are promised life eternal in Heaven with Jesus! What a blessing and miracle! Following Jesus in our lives can bring many miracles! Are you following Jesus or will you live a cursed life without Him? God is so good to us when we build our foundations on His son Jesus Christ! Are you living your life wisely or foolishly? How are you building your house? Do you have Jesus in your foundation?
