Do you need a miracle?
Prayer to Saint Anthony
O holy St. Anthony, gentlest of saints,
your love for God and charity for His Creatures,
made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers.
Miracles on your word,
which you were ever ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety.
Encouraged by this thought I implore of you to obtain for me (state your requests).
The answer to my prayer may require a miracle, even so, you are the saint of miracles.
O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human sympathy,
whisper my petition into the ears of The Sweet Infant Jesus,
who loved to be folded in your arms;
and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours.
Amen.
Miracles come from God! We see so many in the Bible from God and Jesus! What a blessing! Today I was reading this prayer when I was waiting to go into confession with the priest after mass this morning. We wanted to go to confession before the Christmas mass. My mother always liked to go before Christmas and Easter. I love this prayer and knew of it for a long time. I do not ever ask for miracles anymore, but do love this, I look at this prayer daily, but instead I ask St. Anthony to whisper in the ear of Jesus to lead me, guide me, instruct me, bring me where I need to be and to always accept His will be done in my life. I try not to ask for favors or miracles in my prayers for myself anymore and I heard that it is even better too when you pray to always say if it is God's will be done if someone is healed, or a miracle is performed in their life. It is all up to God. We are already living a miracle in this life! I know I have! I know St. Anthony was special and did so much and is the saint of miracles, but it is really God who is in control, and it is His will be done, He knows what each of us need. I love St. Anthony, my parents were married in St. Anthony's Church in Utica, NY and then we went to St. Anthony's church in Chadwicks, NY all our childhood, so we knew St. Anthony very well! That is why I asked Him to lead me, guide me, bring me where I need to be and go. St. Anthony pray for us!
