RIP Father John, thank you for your kindness and love, you reflected, imitated, and loved like Jesus!

Father John Senan Morrissey (1938-2025)

Grow old along with me! the best is yet to be,
The last of life, for which the first was made:
Our times are in his hand who saith, a whole I planned,
Youth shows but half; trust God: see all, nor be afraid!

— Robert Browning

We loved Father John! May he rest in peace! No more suffering and pain. We had gone to another church down south for a few years when we first moved to this county. That priest would never look at us, talk to us, have anything to do with us. We would see him at the gym too, he would just ignore and avoid you. We switched to St. Sebastian here in Sebastian, FL  around Holy Thursday a few years ago, since this church is closer to where we live anyway. We loved the mass, then went on Good Friday too. When we went to this church from the start, Father John was always sitting outside welcoming all people into the church. He was kind and loving, very welcoming. He started to invite us to his happy hours after mass. He talked to us, showed an interest, and really seemed to care. We felt better about this church and started going here full time. Father John was a priest who reflected Jesus. He imitated Him, and loved like Him. He cared about people and was a wonderful person and priest. We will never forget his love he showed us. May he rest in peace and be in the glory of God now home in Heaven with Jesus!
