Matthew 1:1-17

What a genealogy of Jesus Christ! With lots of imperfection and normal people, then came Jesus, Emmanuel! When we look through the lineage of the family of Jesus, we see a lot of normal and imperfect people and leaders. Jesus had a sinful family tree like all of us. We come too from the same types of people and lineages. One thing we all need to remember though is that Jesus although had Joseph as His Step Father, Jesus is from God, during this time of Christmas we are reminded of the angel coming to Mary and telling her about the Spirit overcoming her to give birth to a child, who she needs to name Jesus, He will be the Savior of the world, He is the King of the Universe. He will come again to rule the world! God gave us Jesus, He is Emmanuel, God with  us, we are called to follow Him! To reflect, forgive, imitate, and love like Him! When we do, with great faith, we are promised life eternal in Heaven with Jesus! What a blessing! I know my grandfather on my father side was Frank Jr. his father was Frank Sr. and His father was Jabez from England. I would be nice to know and go back so far like they did for Jesus here in the Bible. No matter our lineage, we need to remember that we are all children of God, He made all of us, He breathed His life into us, we are called to live with Spirit, to live like Jesus, Emmanuel, to follow, reflect, forgive, imitate, and love like Him! It does not matter as much where we are from now, rather where we are going! Are you going in the right direction, following Jesus so to enter into Heaven someday? God's grace is amazing!
