What would you ask God for in life? Money? A long life?  Harm to an enemy? What is important to you? Success, fame, titles, education, etc,? Is discernment or wisdom from God important to you? Is following Jesus important? Today we see so many people on TV, online, the news, etc. talking about buying and investing in gold. I always think if we buy gold, how is that going to help us if there is not food or water. Maybe water is really the better investment. Sometimes it seems like we as humans can be so greedy. I know many who are so obsessed with the stock market and making money for themselves, but when it crashes, they cry, they take a lot of risks. So many people today take too many risks, but will not even go to church, read the Bible, or invest in their Spiritual growth in knowing and following Jesus.

The most complete life ever lived on this earth lasted only thirty-three years. Solomon also did not choose riches. Many people, if given the choice, would choose money over everything else. There’s a Russian legend about a man who entered a diamond mine looking for treasure. He filled his pockets with gems, but as he found larger ones, he discarded the smaller ones. Eventually, he became thirsty, but there was no water. He heard rivers flowing, but when he found them, they were rivers of diamonds. I am always in awe of the Mornings with God App prayers they share that resonate with me, so I share some of them here. This one was a good one. What is important to you? Gold? Money? Fame? A long life? Or rather discernment from God to have His wisdom? We really need to ask ourselves this. We are so busy looking for gold, diamonds, money, power, fame, things of this world, but something simple like water we forget about. Or Jesus, who we really need! We are called to follow Jesus! To reflect, forgive, imitate, and love like Him! That is what is important. Pray that we can have the fortitude to follow Him, to ask God for discernment and His wisdom to live this Earth School journey well! This is what is important!
