The sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath. That is why the Son of Man is Lord even of the sabbath!

As Jesus was passing through a field of grain on the sabbath,

his disciples began to make a path while picking the heads of grain.

At this the Pharisees said to him,

“Look, why are they doing what is unlawful on the sabbath?”

He said to them,

“Have you never read what David did

when he was in need and he and his companions were hungry?

How he went into the house of God when Abiathar was high priest

and ate the bread of offering that only the priests could lawfully eat,

and shared it with his companions?”

Then he said to them,

“The sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath.

That is why the Son of Man is lord even of the sabbath.”

~Mark 2:23-28

I like how Jesus answers the Pharisees on this issue. They are constantly trying to catch Him. They are the ones that ultimately had Him murdered, killed, an innocent man. They are so focused on their laws and statues, but then show so much hypocrisy and contradiction. Are they the same that crossed the street so to not help the beaten man on the side of the street, so you cannot help someone one on a holy day? Jesus does! I love it! He is my hero! David too was of great faith and knew in His heart what is right. Today I heard this crazy mayor from a liberal city, talking about how our government shouldn't enforce its federal laws on immigration and that he wishes they would show more humanity. It just think it is so ironic, all these people who do not want law and order, mostly anarchists, woke, liberal left, and haters. They are the same they say follow the science, but do not follow the science and cannot even say a man cannot have a baby, or a baby in the womb is not a person yet, so it is okay to murder or abort a baby. What a contradiction! So much hypocrisy, Jesus points it out again here too. The same liberal left crazies, they talk all about free speech and not censoring books, yet if you do not follow or agree with their groupthink, or speak against what they believe, they will cut you off, silence you, or cancel you. youtube did that to me too, I wrote comments to singers of Christian and Christmas songs thanking them for their music and discipleship, and they call it spam, scam, and deceptive selling, selling Jesus? I did know you could, He is free! Today, the liberal left, haters, and woke, are just like the Pharisees of the time of Jesus, they are hypocrites and contradict almost everything they stand for. They just keep forgetting that love always wins over hate. Their hate will never win against Jesus! He will always rise again! That is why I pray daily for Jesus to come back, to make sense of all this chaos, lawlessness, hate, and violence. People need Jesus now more than ever. This Bible verse is a great reminder for us, man is not made for the sabbath, it was made for us by God! We are called to follow Jesus at all times now!
