Are you qorban (meaning, dedicated to God)?
When the Pharisees with some scribes who had come from Jerusalem
gathered around Jesus,
they observed that some of his disciples ate their meals
with unclean, that is, unwashed, hands.
(For the Pharisees and, in fact, all Jews,
do not eat without carefully washing their hands,
keeping the tradition of the elders.
And on coming from the marketplace
they do not eat without purifying themselves.
And there are many other things that they have traditionally observed,
the purification of cups and jugs and kettles and beds.)
So the Pharisees and scribes questioned him,
"Why do your disciples not follow the tradition of the elders
but instead eat a meal with unclean hands?"
He responded,
"Well did Isaiah prophesy about you hypocrites,
as it is written:
This people honors me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me;
In vain do they worship me,
teaching as doctrines human precepts.
You disregard God's commandment but cling to human tradition."
He went on to say,
"How well you have set aside the commandment of God
in order to uphold your tradition!
For Moses said,
Honor your father and your mother,
and Whoever curses father or mother shall die.
Yet you say,
'If someone says to father or mother,
"Any support you might have had from me is qorban"'
(meaning, dedicated to God),
you allow him to do nothing more for his father or mother.
You nullify the word of God
in favor of your tradition that you have handed on.
And you do many such things."
~Mark 7:1-13
Are you qorban (meaning, dedicated to God)? A new word for the day! Qorban, dedicated to God! Are you? The Pharisees act like they are, but they really are just involved in rituals. We see a lot of priests today like this too, they can speak so eloquently, give such nice homilies, but then ignore you, avoid you, or dismiss you, could honestly care less about you, like in the example of the Good Samaritan, where the priest crossed to the other side of the street so to not help an injured man. Jesus said, "You nullify the word of God in favor of your tradition that you have handed on." We see this today with abortion, so many push so much abortion, killing babies, they cannot even define when it is a baby, they say they are for science, but then do not want to accept it is life inside of them, they push killing innocent, helpless, voiceless babies, but then care more about saving rescue dogs over babies. They make excuses for lawlessness, which the Bible calls sin, like stealing, cheating, entering a country illegally, lying, working illegally, people make so many excuses today for sin and lawlessness today, try to justify it as something right, when it is not. Some do not want voter ID, so they can cheat, but it is okay for flying on a plane or going to an elected officials event, the hypocrisy is so apparent today, we see it so much from the liberal left lawless, they have become lunatics to lawlessness and excuses. It really is all about love. The same people who push abortion, are the same who hate the President, and want men in women sports, they think it is fine to allow young children to have sex change operations. This all is not dedicated to God! It is not qorban! We need to live and do all that is dedicating to God, law and order, saving babies, living upright and holy lives with no excuses for hate and lawlessness. I am dedicating this blog and all to God, I know my words are inspired by Him! Are you living your life dedicating it to God? Honor God not man by how you live!
