Some good advice, take one day at a time, God never gives more in one day than we can handle, don't worry about tomorrow yet!
It has been well said that no man ever sank under the burden of the day. It is when to-morrow’s burden is added to the burden of to-day that the weight is more than a man can bear. Never load yourselves so, my friends. If you find yourselves so loaded, at least remember this: it is your own doing, not God’s. He begs you to leave the future to Him, and mind the present.
—G. MacDonald
Cast thy burdens upon the Lord,—hand it over, heave it upon Him,—and He shall sustain thee; shall bear both, if thou trust Him with both, both thee and thy burden: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
—R. Leighton
Some good advice, take one day at a time, God never gives more in one day than we can handle, don't worry about tomorrow yet! I love these quotes and they are so apropos for me and what is going on in my life now. Some old man at church smashed into my car. It was being impatient I think and careless. Anyway, he caused a lot of damage to my car. He said he would pay, but when I gave him the estimates he did not want to pay me. I then told him to use his insurance so that this could be addressed, but his company Allstate has been a nightmare to work with and get them to help me, they make so many errors, their website and links do not work, they never call or write back, they leave you hanging and it has become so frustrating to me, causing so much anxiety and stress to my life. I keep praying that it all gets resolved, but 10 days have passed and I have not had much progress with all yet. I am on pins and needles with it all. I am sure it will be resolved, it may take a few weeks or months, as the shop seems to not be able to schedule any appointments for way out. This is just a good example of how someone's sin of impatience causes so much stress and strain for his brother in Christ. I didn't know him at all. He wasn't really nice or kind or apologetic, now he has washed his hands of it and doesn't even want me to write or call him at all. So I am left to deal with all with his insurance company. I am sure God will work it all out in His timing, and it will be all in the past in the near future. All I can do is pray, trust in the Lord, know it is His perfect timing and God's will be done in my life. Focus on the present not on the future. God help me to handle what you have given me. All we can do is cast our burdens upon the Lord,—hand it over, heave it upon Him,—and He shall sustain thee; shall bear both, if thou trust Him with both, both thee and thy burden: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved!
