Love must be tough enough to correct!

Withhold not correction from the child. ... Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.

~Proverbs 23:13-14

Today more than ever we need more law and order. We see so much chaos and lawlessness in all aspects of our life and world. Just so much sin, and not one wants to be judged, corrected, or follow any laws or have any real order. It is almost as if anything goes. That was never part of the plan of God. Even Jesus spoke about this too. We have all heard that if we spare the rod we spoil the child. That is what is happening today in our world. We all need discipline and law and order. We can do it, but it must be with love and tough, touch love is what matters, because it is love.

The Mornings With God App today said, "Some parents and teachers have such gentle hearts that they can’t bear to correct a child, fearing they might cause pain. But they forget that leaving a fault uncorrected or allowing a wrong tendency to grow unchecked is the greatest unkindness they could do. It’s like leaving weeds in a garden—soon enough, those weeds will grow and mar the beauty of the flowers. Anyone should be glad to have a fault pointed out—not glad that the fault exists, but glad it’s known so it can be corrected. We should always deal with our faults ruthlessly. If necessary, we should be willing to cut off a hand or pluck out an eye, so to speak, to save our souls. Love must be tough enough to correct. No tenderness should stop a parent or teacher from helping a child overcome a fault. Love always seeks the best." Found at:  https://www.youdevotion.com/mornings/march/22

As  teacher I remember always being strict and having a well run classroom. I talked about rules, and why they were important, we discussed them, and talked about respect for all and why we were there to learn. I am a firm believer in rules, and law and order. I want to see it today in our society today, all following our rules. However, today many people try to be selfish and skirt the laws, they smoke where they are not supposed to, they commit fraud, they cheat, steal, lie, they bring dogs to the beach although it says no dogs, they promote lawlessness like illegal immigration, and many breaking our rules. We have rules for a reason, it is so all is fair and things function well, but some think it is their right to break them or make up their own reasons, mostly out of selfishness. It is not right though. The same hate, are violent, and act out if they do not get their own way, Schools today are quite lawless too, we see and hear about it in the news always. Our society has gotten lax for sure, but it has its consequences. All this lawlessness and sin, only leads people to hell like the Bible verse talks about. Correction and law and order, respect for others, living and thinking of others is what matters, it helps us remember we are not on this planet alone, we need to think of others and where we all want to go when we leave here, to Heaven, discipline and self control are important if we want to make it into Heaven!
