Just trying to be nice and help good people!

All usefulness and all comfort may be prevented by an unkind, a sour, crabbed temper of mind,—a mind that can bear with no difference of opinion or temperament. A spirit of fault-finding; an unsatisfied temper; a constant irritability; little inequalities in the look, the temper, or the manner; a brow cloudy and dissatisfied—your husband or your wife cannot tell why—will more than neutralize all the good you can do, and render life anything but a blessing.

—A. Barnes

You have not fulfilled every duty, unless you have fulfilled that of being pleasant.

Are you just trying to be nice and help good people? I was texting with my nephew today and catching up. He has gone through a lot the past few years and I am trying to be supportive and write and encourage him often. He was really duped for sure. Life just is not fair sometimes. I admire what he told me today, he said he tries to stay busy and tries to help good people. I know he helps the old man where he lives and has helped a few older women in need. It is so true. We all need to be kind. To show love, and to be good and help others, especially good people who need a little help. I did a lot of volunteer work for almost 30 years as part of my service category at work, helping people at church, at the senior center, and in my little city/neighbors. It always makes you feel better when you do something nice for someone, especially someone who is a good person. I liked these quotes above about this idea too, we all need to be kind, loving, and pleasant to others. To help others! We are called to serve others. God wants us to love all people, to follow Jesus, to reflect, forgive, imitate, and love like Jesus in this life! Do all we can to be a blessing for others! It is admirable and we are called to serve, to love, and to be of help to good people!
