Insecurity is one of the biggest problems in the world today, it leads to hate, jealousy, envy, indifference, and so many of the worlds problems! We see it play out in the news daily. We see it in government, elected, among all peoples, insecurity is a huge problem today. We see it with countries hating other countries, being jealous of success, hating them because of their religion, or just blinded by hate. I saw my fair share of it when I was a professor at a large state university. There is a lot of jealousy, envy, and insecurity among professors for sure. If someone is successful as a teacher or researcher, writer, or accomplishes much, others are bothered by this, they become jealous, envious, and many even insecure. I saw the insecurity issue among many of the foreign hires with their issues with lack of English, accents, and lack of success with publishing and teaching due to language and culture of fitting in. It leads to many issues among coworkers and students I noticed. Today we see insecurity among races, gender, sexual orientation, so many factors. Even among siblings. Look what Joseph's brothers did to him in the Bible, jealous of being his father's favorite and his coat of many colors. Yet, Joseph forgave, loved them anyway, never turned them away, and embraced their unity again. It takes a lot for all of us to not allow jealousy, envy, and insecurity to get the best of us. We see a lot of wars and strife among nations today, most is all insecurity, egos, and power struggles. Some even lead to hate, like what many have done to Israel today, their hate has blinded them, we see today many full of so much hate, many with TDS in the USA, allowing their hate to blind them, even the news media does this to a very large degree, it is sad they create so much division in the world. What makes confident people? Does God? Following Jesus? We know that Joseph and David had great faith in God, they gave Him glory and knew He was the the all powerful. They were not insecure to give God all the glory. Does this help us to be more confident and not so insecure? A friend of mine was telling me about someone who had many problems in her work, she had many complaints of being hateful, racist, and nasty to others, many bad reports, she called it hate, but I told her it is more insecurity than anything else, she told me I was being too kind to say this, but I truly feel it is true, she is insecure and this is what prompts her to act out in hateful ways toward others, insecurity does this. I know another teacher who came from another country who had a lot of problems in his classes as his students did not understand him, they complained about his accent, yet he instead said they are racist and hateful to him, but it wasn't race or hate, it was his insecurity of not accepting the fact that his accent and cultural differences lead to the confusion in class and the difficulties his students had learning from him. Many times as humans we forget to look into ourselves, examine us to see what really is the problem. Today we see so many so quick to use racism as the excuse for their ills, but it often is their own insecurity that it boils down to. Insecurity causes a lot of problems today, the lack of not being good enough, not speaking well, having an accent, lacking the writing ability to succeed with publications, just overall struggles and disappointments due to our own lacking and then we want to call it racism or hate. So many today suffer from TDS and do the same thing with our current President, the bash him nonstop, always criticizing, just full of so much hate, negativity, and insecurity, they do not like successful people, who are self-made. It is insecurity. It is sad. I write this to help them all, we all need to recognize our insecurities as they hold us back, they hurt us, they make us hate, be jealous, insecure, indifference, and unhappy as individuals. We need to rise above our insecurities, find confidence in our faith and Jesus, and know that He can give us the confidence to love all people and not hate or be insecure toward anyone!
