It’s right to clear our names when doing so promotes the greater good of the Church!

When we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.

- Acts 21:17

“If you forgive others their transgressions,
your heavenly Father will forgive you.
But if you do not forgive others,
neither will your Father forgive your transgressions.”

-Jesus

It’s right to clear our names when doing so promotes the greater good of the Church! They talked about this in the Mornings with God App today. It is really true. I saw it firsthand for myself with people prior to me retiring. Another professor caused a lot of problems and made my retirement less than it should have been, because she was insecure, jealous, had envy, and allowed bigotry and hypocrisy, hurt others. While I forgive and forget, it is true, some use hate and cancel culture to hurt others and their reputations, it is not right, they do not realize things they say how they can hurt others, even if they do not mean to make another less than human.

The Mornings With God App today said, "Wherever Christians meet, they recognize each other as brothers and sisters. Though strangers at first, they greet one another as friends. The Jews welcomed Paul and rejoiced at the work among the Gentiles. However, they knew some Jewish Christians still distrusted Paul, believing he was disloyal to his people. But what they had heard about him wasn’t true. He had never told Jewish Christians to abandon Moses. Unfortunately, bigotry often twists the words of its opponents. Sometimes, to clear up false impressions, we have to do things we shouldn’t have to do. Paul followed the advice of the leaders and made a public display of his loyalty to Jewish customs to prove to those who doubted him that he was still connected to his people. It’s right to clear our names when doing so promotes the greater good of the Church." Found at: https://www.youdevotion.com/mornings/june/18

I can relate to Paul and how he felt. I do feel the same, I want to forgive, show that I am human, and not let people who hurt me hold me back in life, although retired now, my retirement was somewhat hurtful as another person caused a great deal of pain to me, while I forgive them, and understand, it happens where people cancel, hate, are jealous, or insecure, and can hurt others long term, whether they realize it or not. Like it says above, that unfortunately, bigotry often twists the words of its opponents. Sometimes, to clear up false impressions, we have to do things we shouldn’t have to do. I have seen a lot of insecurity from coworkers in the past, they do mean spirited things and can be , vengeful, and insecure, nothing thinking how it can hurt another person and their reputation oftentimes. We just need to stay focused on Jesus, do His will, follow, reflect, forgive, imitate, and love like Him nonetheless! We need to do things for the church, for Jesus, for humanity, yes, and maybe for the good of the church!
