The mass readings for today have some real meat to them! Some great information. I loved the first reading by Amos saying things like: Seek good and not evil, that you may live; Then truly will the LORD, the God of hosts, be with you as you claim! Hate evil and love good. It is all so true! We need to be good people! God is clear in the Psalm when it says, To the upright I will show the saving power of God! We need to live upright lives, loving all, stopping all hate and evil. It was ironic too, in the last Psalm it says, "“Why do you recite my statutes, and profess my covenant with your mouth, Though you hate discipline and cast my words behind you?” It is so true, today, no one wants any discipline or law and order, our world has gone made! It was ironic in the Gospel today how Jesus removed to people who were demonic and put their demons in the swine and off the cliff, He was able to heal these demoniacs. However, the people did not want him to do it, they did not want to lose their swine. They cared more about their business than having demons removed by people in their village. We are at a point now in this country and world were we see so many who are possessed by demons too, we see the hate, negativity, misery, deranged, all those who are doing so much evil, corrupt, fraudulent, and wicked things today, so much hate and evil. A lot of it because people are blinded by their hate, possessed by demons too, yet, the same, people today do not want you to talk about sin, the devil, evil, or anything bad, as if demons do not exist. Today we see so many who do not want to hear the truth. They just hate and hate, coming up with so many excuses for hate and sin trying to justify their ways as something correct when it is not. While many do not want Jesus to do His job, I know I do, we need it, it shows in society today how so many are so completely off their rockers with no logic, reason, or truth from God!

Seek good and not evil,

Then truly will the LORD, the God of hosts,
be with you as you claim!
Hate evil and love good,
and let justice prevail at the gate;
Then it may be that the LORD, the God of hosts,
will have pity on the remnant of Joseph.I hate, I spurn your feasts, says the LORD,
I take no pleasure in your solemnities;
Your cereal offerings I will not accept,
nor consider your stall-fed peace offerings.
Away with your noisy songs!
I will not listen to the melodies of your harps.
But if you would offer me burnt offerings,
then let justice surge like water,
and goodness like an unfailing stream.

Gospel

Matthew 8:28-34

When Jesus came to the territory of the Gadarenes,
two demoniacs who were coming from the tombs met him.
They were so savage that no one could travel by that road.
They cried out, “What have you to do with us, Son of God?
Have you come here to torment us before the appointed time?”
Some distance away a herd of many swine was feeding.
The demons pleaded with him,
“If you drive us out, send us into the herd of swine.”
And he said to them, “Go then!”
They came out and entered the swine,
and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea
where they drowned.
The swineherds ran away,
and when they came to the town they reported everything,
including what had happened to the demoniacs.
Thereupon the whole town came out to meet Jesus,
and when they saw him they begged him to leave their district.
