Miracles in Colombia!

This website is all about the miracles of God! Here is a wonderful miracle I read today about Colombia and the 7.4 Earthquake they just had this past Monday in the western sectors of the country. The numbers continue to climb as responders dig through the rubble. But in Armenia, a city of 300,000 roughly 43 miles from the epicenter, there were no active rescues. No buildings collapsed. No one died. The nearby cities of Pereira and Manizales, by comparison, suffered scores of deaths. Cali, more than twice as far from the epicenter as Armenia, reported at least 95. “La Ciudad Milagro,” Colombians are calling it — the Miracle City. But it wasn’t a miracle, according to the engineers and officials who helped lead the city’s response to the 1999 earthquake. It was the result of careful planning and reconstruction after that disaster forced the city’s rebirth. “We’ve been preparing ourselves. We’ve been strengthening our relief and rescue systems,” Mayor James Padilla told a local news channel. “All these drills carried out in recent years are what have made Armenia into an earthquake-resistant city.” It wasn’t only drills. The catastrophic damage 27 years ago gave the city an opportunity to build back stronger. “The earthquake took all the oldest, badly built structures and knocked them down,” said structural engineer Omar Cardona, Colombia’s most prominent specialist in seismic risk."

What a miracle story here! I have also read about many miracles of them saving babies and other lives among the debris. Miracles are always in terrible things like this. God shows us He is there and He cares, we need to look at it as something positive, like the people in Armenia Colombia did. They lost a lot in 1999 with that previous earthquake, they prepared, built back, and were ready waiting for something like this to come out stronger, they used what they learned from the past. They also gave it all over to God! God is so good. When I read this story today, it really choked me up. It was something so beautiful to look at natural disasters like this, there are blessing from them, there are miracles, may we never forget God is here with us in the storms of life. He will get us through it and make us stronger and better prepared. My spouses family all live in Cali Colombia, they had a lot of death and damage, thankfully all are fine, God is good, miracles do happen, and God is there for us, He calls us sometimes to wake up, prepare, take precautions, be ready. The earthquake in 1999 prepared Armenia for this earthquake, they saw a miracle with no death and less destruction in infrastructure, it made a difference. Sometime we can grow and prosper when we first have to go through a storm in life. Miracles happen, don't stop believing in God that He will make us stronger and get us through anything in life! Please pray for all of Colombia and the people impacted by this earthquake and their losses, may it bring growth and them ready and closer to God too! Did the 1999 quake bring the people from Armenia closer to God and to trust Jesus? They had more faith this time, they were ready, prepared, and they saw a real miracle! What a blessing from God!
