Keep Your Eyes and Heart Focused on God: Sometimes you Have to Shake the Dust Off Your Feet and Be a Miracle to Others more Welcoming!

In our hectic world of everyone on the go in so many different directions and our global addiction to social media it can easily make you feel ignored when most people today become indifferent, insecure, apathetic, unresponsive, egotistical, and you feel they do not even care. Never lose faith! God is always there, He hears us and He knows how we feel. Jesus spoke to His disciples and told them when they go out in pairs to preach the good word of God, to "Shake the Dust Off Your Feet" when you are not welcomed or people will not listen to you. We cannot neglect the harvest and our chance to spend eternity with our Maker because of a few who do not want to be bothered by you and His Gospel teachings. The consequences of this are too great, we can try to reach all the best we can, but if they ignore you or won't listen, you likely need to move on. We cannot always cast our pearls to swine, we need to just shake the dust off our feet and continue to do discipleship the best we can with those who are like-minded and want to learn or be good people.

Below are a few Bible versus that reference these ideas here as follows:

"If no one welcomes you or listens to your words, as you leave that house or town, shake its dust off your feet." -Matthew 10:14

"But if any place refuses to welcome you or listen to you, shake its dust from your feet as you leave to show that you have abandoned those people to their fate.” -Mark 6:11

“Anyone who receives you receives me, and anyone who receives me receives the Father who sent me." -Matthew 10:40

"But they shook off the dust of their feet in protest against them and went to Iconium." -Acts 13:51

Yoly a few years ago had a nice song about this idea as well called, Shake the Dust Off My Feet.  Enjoy the words and message. Humans will always disappoint other human beings, it is all part of human nature.  We are all human beings for goodness sake so that is why.  We are not perfect. Only God is Perfect and is the Truth! We need to put God center stage in our lives, believe, pray, have faith, live the best life we can and be more like Jesus Christ did when He walked the Earth, this is all we can do. Be the best you can be. While humans sometimes may disappoint you, even maybe a friend or family member or colleague, you need to forgive them, remember what Bob Goff's book says, Love Everybody Always. It is not always easy, we do the best we can, we try to be good disciplines for Our Father, and sometimes we do have to learn to shake the dust off our feet and move on when we are not listened too, ignored, nor appreciated. There is only so much one can do. Try to be a miracle to all who are welcoming! Be a light for others, an instrument of peace. May God bless you always! Keep the faith!
