Gospel Reading This Week is a Good Reminder to Love God and Love People!

 

The Great Commandment

But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

The Gospel reading for this week in church is one that is well known---Love God and love your Neighbor as yourself! The priest talked about many things we can do to show love to God, like prayer, giving thanks, going to church, etc. He said that love for the neighbor is a different love than we may have for a person, but we need to try to always love our neighbors and do things for them too and show you care.  Dan Gokey has a new song and it fits in perfectly with the reading for this week. I posted it once before, but it is worth posting again, it is a hit song on the radio now, it is catchy and so true, he says in the song, keep it simple, love God and love people! Can you be a miracle and blessing to others even neighbors even when they are not nice to you, can you love them and forgive them, love them anyway like God would?
