God Chose Each of Us to Be His Disciples and Servants While Here on Earth, Look at it as a Blessing, We Can All Be Miracles!

Make Us True Servants on GodTube

The readings at mass this week are really thoughtful and beautiful! The old and new testaments, the old part of the Jewish Torah have the best messages for us! Today in the reading from Isaiah is wonderful! I love the readings from Isaiah, always the best! Be opened to do God's will. Say yes, like Mary did! Like David did! Like Isaiah did! Like Jesus did! Like the first disciples did today in the Gospel, Simon Peter, John, and James did. We all need to be bold and say yes to God! Sometimes even if it means not agreeing with our government and so called leaders. We are really working for the Lord, not Earthly people, be open, be accepting, protect your peace by staying focused on God, finding refuge in Him always, making Him your rock and your everything, despite what others say who come against you! Put your shoes of peace on for Christ and take up Your cross here on Earth too, know Him, love Him, serve Him, work toward being with Him forever in Heaven when you leave this Earthly world. One of the songs they sang at church this week is one of my all time favorites, Make Us True Servants. I will try to include it here, listen above and see the lyrics below, it is a beautiful song, I have heard many years ago at my old church, Sacred Heart, and they sang it last night at St. Helen's. We are here to be servants for others, that is why I love being a teacher, a servant for my students to help them grow to become excellent teachers as well, to be good people, to be servants as well. We can all be blessings and miracles for others! Last night we watched a movie of the life of Saint Maria Mazzarello was the Italian founder of the Salesian Sisters, the Daughters of Mary. All she wanted to do is to know God, to love God, and to serve Him. She made it her mission that all she did she did with kindness and love and to please God even as a young child, her life was dedicated to serving God in every action, she even mentioned about being in constant prayer and not even letting a quarter of an hour pass without praying and talking to God. She was a real disciple and now her mission has spread all around the world today in most countries. It was so beautiful! We all need to strive to be like St. Mary. She was a true servant!   We can all be good teachers, servants, disciples for the Lord and His people while here on this Earth School. Alleluia! Like in Psalm 138:1-2, 2-3, 4-5, 7-8 let us sing our and say:  "In the sight of the angels I will sing your praises, Lord!"

From Isaiah 6:1-2a, 3-8
In the year King Uzziah died,
I saw the Lord seated on a high and lofty throne,
with the train of his garment filling the temple.
Seraphim were stationed above.
They cried one to the other,
“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts!
All the earth is filled with his glory!”
At the sound of that cry, the frame of the door shook
and the house was filled with smoke.
Then I said, “Woe is me, I am doomed!
For I am a man of unclean lips,
living among a people of unclean lips;
yet my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!”
Then one of the seraphim flew to me,
holding an ember that he had taken with tongs from the altar.
He touched my mouth with it, and said,
“See, now that this has touched your lips,
your wickedness is removed, your sin purged.”
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,
“Whom shall I send?  Who will go for us?”
“Here I am,” I said; “send me!”

Lyrics for
Make us True Servants

Make us true servants to all those in need.
Filled with compassion in thought, word and deed;
Loving our neighbor, whatever the cost,
Feeding the hungry and finding the lost.
Lord, make us prophets to cry out the way,
Tell the nations of mercy's new day.
Let us break barriers of hatred and scorn,
Speaking of hope to all people forlorn.
Lord, make us healers of body and mine;
Give us your power to bring sight to the blind;
Love to the loveless and gladness for pain,
Filling all hearts with the joy of your name.

From the Gospel of Luke 5:1-11
While the crowd was pressing in on Jesus and listening to the word of God,
he was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret.
He saw two boats there alongside the lake;
the fishermen had disembarked and were washing their nets.
Getting into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon,
he asked him to put out a short distance from the shore.
Then he sat down and taught the crowds from the boat.
After he had finished speaking, he said to Simon,
“Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch.”
Simon said in reply,
“Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing,
but at your command I will lower the nets.”
When they had done this, they caught a great number of fish
and their nets were tearing.
They signaled to their partners in the other boat
to come to help them.
They came and filled both boats
so that the boats were in danger of sinking.
When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at the knees of Jesus and said,
“Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.”
For astonishment at the catch of fish they had made seized him
and all those with him,
and likewise James and John, the sons of Zebedee,
who were partners of Simon.
Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid;
from now on you will be catching men.”
When they brought their boats to the shore,
they left everything and followed him.
