More Blessed When We Do Not Envy Sinners!

 

Do not let your heart envy sinners [who live godless lives and have no hope of salvation], 
But [continue to] live in the [reverent, worshipful] fear of the LORD day by day.

-Proverbs 23:17

Today in our society and country and world we see so many sinners! So many people who do not follow rules and laws. People who do not care and hurt people, kill people, abuse people, even kill poor unborn helpless babies, we live in a dog eat dog world, with so much corruption, fraud, violence, hate, greed, mediocrity, and selfishness. We are living in tough times!  Today my spouse and I read of a local priest and his office manager from a Catholic Church here stole $1.5 million dollars over a five year period. And he was a priest. Should we envy them and their sin? Our priest from our church won't look at us, or speak back to us, or have anything to do with us and we go to the church he heads, yet he ignores, avoids, and denies us in public. Today so many never follow rules, they break them all the time, the sign at the beach says no fishing in the beach park grounds, they do, no dogs, they bring them, no smoking, no alcohol, they do it all, no one follows the rules today. We have so many elected officials today who are self serving and break our election laws, do insider trading, steal from our government, aid other governments, there is just so much sin today out there, should we envy it and join in, like the old adage says, if you can't beat them join them? We need to fear the Lord and do what is right and holy, what is upright. I like to write to family and friends and try to stay in touch, most don't and can't be bothered and don't bother to write back, it is just how it is today, there is not a lot you can do, you care, but most other people don't they do not want to be bothered, so you just need to focus on your own life, pray, say a rosary, pray to God, find refuge in God, that is all you can do. We all have to be responsible for our own salvation and try to be upright and godly as much as we can, be reverent and worship the Lord always, do not fall by the wayside to sin. We are more blessed when we do not envy sinners and focus on God and make our main objective in life getting into Heaven and spending eternity with Jesus Christ!
