Call No One on Earth your Father, We Only Have One Father in Heaven! Be Careful of Hypocrites and Those Who do Not Practice What They Preach!

Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples, saying,
"The scribes and the Pharisees
have taken their seat on the chair of Moses.
Therefore, do and observe all things whatsoever they tell you,
but do not follow their example.
For they preach but they do not practice.
They tie up heavy burdens hard to carry
and lay them on people's shoulders,
but they will not lift a finger to move them.
All their works are performed to be seen.
They widen their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels.
They love places of honor at banquets, seats of honor in synagogues,
greetings in marketplaces, and the salutation 'Rabbi.'
As for you, do not be called 'Rabbi.'
You have but one teacher, and you are all brothers.
Call no one on earth your father;
you have but one Father in heaven.
Do not be called 'Master';
you have but one master, the Christ.
The greatest among you must be your servant.
Whoever exalts himself will be humbled;
but whoever humbles himself will be exalted."

-Matthew 23:1-12

This Bible verse is so true! Jesus is the only example! Follow God, not man, especially not priests! Our old priest Matthew is described to the "t" here, loves to preach, but does not practice what he preaches.  This Bible verse from Matthew is so apropos, so true, so ironic! Teachers? Teaching what? Indifference? Ignorance? Dismissiveness? Avoidance? Judgement? Acceptance? Jesus is so true when He talks about all these priests, pharisees, and rabbis who act so holy and above, preaching so much, but are some of the worst examples of Jesus! I love how Jesus rebukes all the clergy. It is so true, so many hypocrites, and so much mediocrity. I recently made a donation to one for a book, they took my money, but never sent the book, called, emailed, wrote a letter, nothing, don't follow all these preachers, clergy, and hypocrites, like Jesus, rebuke them. Follow only God! Jesus is our example, let Him lead you! Man will always disappoint, God never will!
