Faith in the Lord and Good Health are Better than a Long Life and Riches!

Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honor. 

- Proverbs 3:16

Sometimes we think a long life is a blessing, but often if we do not have good health or other blessings in our lives, it may not always be when we have issues. It is nice to have everything, but that is not usually the case. Blessed health is what really is better. My Aunt always says she is the richest person in the world, not monetarily, but health-wise and that just just turned 91. She has he mind, body, children, home, faith, and many blessings from God. Money is not everything. So many put money first, but if you do not have health and cannot do much, all the money in China won't help much. It may even make you look bad, especially if you are losing your mind and marbles like some. Having good health and God in your heart are what really matter. With God all things are possible, they help with so much. 

The Mornings With God App said, "Long life is not in itself a blessing.  There is a legend of one who had a promise that the thing he asked for, whatever it might be, he would get. He prayed that he might not die, and his request was granted. He lived on and on. But he had forgotten to ask that he might not grow old, and so his gift became an intolerable burden. No doubt right living tends to longevity. Sin shortens life. One year of wise and Christ–like living, earnest and faithful, is better than ten years of selfishness and sin. “Riches and honor” are part of wisdom’s portion. It may not be this world’s riches and honor. True riches are those we can carry out of this world with us. Wisdom teaches us how to use even money so that it shall enrich us in eternity. What we keep and spend on ourselves we lose. What we give away in Christ’s name is all we really make our own forever. What we sacrifice for Christ we shall find again and have forever."

We need to count our blessings. Take care of ourselves, pray, turn to God, and live with the Holy Spirit within. That is all that matters. Our faith in God can get us through anything on this Earth School. All the money in China cannot really help us, especially when we are greedy, corrupt, and self-serving and do not put our God and country first. Where is the honor then? It is hard to honor anyone who is greedy and selfish. We see so much of this today, especially in our elected, governments, and powers that be. What good is all the money? With no good health or honor? We need to know what is right. We need to have God in us. God is all that matters, not a long life and money!
