This movie shares the life of Mary, Mother of Jesus. She said before she died to not let the darkness of this world put out the light God gave you. Today we see so much wickedness and evil, so much greed, corruption, fraud, selfishness, and mediocrity, especially from our elected and governments and powers that be, none are good examples for people of goodwill. We cannot let them put out our light, we must shine like Mary did living and reflecting Jesus all we can. Mary had many challenges, God relied on her to bring His son Jesus into the world as Emmanuel, God with us. Jesus is the Savior of the world and our only way to Heaven. Mary knew this, she was full of grace and trusted completely in God throughout her entire life. She suffered so much with what they did to her son Jesus. She knew Him! She accepted Him. She let His will be done. Mary embraced God’s unexpected plan for her life and responded to the Angel Gabriel with the iconic words recorded in the Bible: “Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word” (in Luke 1:38). What a blessing and a real miracle! Jesus and Mary both are our miracles! Mary was the first person to hear the name of JESUS! The name Jesus means, “Jehovah is salvation,” or ,”The one true God saves.” This was the name by which all peoples could be saved from the wickedness of their sins (as found in Acts 4:12). This was also the name of the Messiah that people had awaited for thousands of years talked about in the Old Testament. This is the name by which our prayers are heard and accepted by our God (as found in John 16:23). It was a privilege for Mary to hear the angel speak the name of Jesus. A priest once said at a mass that Mary is talked about more in the Koran than in the Bible. I love that Mary reminds us of Jesus our Savior and we must keep our lights on always and not let things of this world bring us down. We need to remain joyful always in the Lord! What a miracle Mary brought us, Jesus! Mothers are very special, my mother certainly was, I loved her so much. She was a lot like Mary and I still feel her so close to me. I could not have asked for a better mother. Mothers are full of so much grace!  Mary is our holy Mother, she is full of so much grace. Mary just wants us to carry Jesus on our hearts, to reflect Him in all we do. Be positive, loving, and joyful in the Lord!  Happy Mother's Day! Mary's prayers can bring much peace!
